Pittards® Armortan® is a ruggedly durable, water-repellent leather offering superior grip and excellent dexterity in all weather conditions. Armortan® encases the chemical structure of the leather in microscopic ceramic "armor plates" which are more resistant to abrasion, thus increasing the durability of the leather by preventing wear on contact surfaces and materials. Outdoor Research utilizes Pittards® Armortan® leather in select ice climbing gloves, ski gloves and mountaineering gloves.
