Excellent Glove

I am impressed with the comfort and warmth of this glove. The touch screen feature impresses everyone. I recommend OR gloves to everyone who inquires. The gloves got a little cold in extreme 40 mph gusts and wind chill below 0, so it would have been nice if there was a pocket for hand warmers. However, in most normal/cold/wet skiing condition hand warmers will not be needed.

I ski over 30 days during the season and find my gear gets put to the test. So far I have worn these gloves in snow, rain, & sunshine. They keep me dry and warm all day and then dryed out well over night. I demand this basic function in gloves and these ones perform well, but what separates them from the rest is the functionality. Simple things such as the wrist straps with the disc tighteners and the thumb hook at the base of your palm made getting the gloves on and off very easy. As a bonus, I didn't even realize they have the touch technology which will allow me to function my phone with out taking my gloves off, which I can't wait to try.

These gloves are strongly recommended. They are warm, dry and very functional. These made me an OR fan!

  Capm - These gloves have our ladder-lock wrist cinch with easy-grip tabs for easy opening and cinching but do not have the pre-installed wrist leash.

  Machine wash cold, separately. Use Powder detergent. Do not bleach, do not use fabric softener. Drip dry. Do not machine dry. Do not dry clean.

Q:
I am confused by the marketing of these gloves which state they have an insert versus a questions asked regarding removable shell which was answered no. I only buy gloves which have removable inserts. Does this glove have a removable insert? Second, it it does, it sounds like the shell is actually insulated with a fleece lining? Basically I want a glove that when it's cold, below 20F, I where with inserts and on warmer days just the shell.

  The gloves do not have a removable liner. The "Waterproof/breathable Ventia Plus insert" is referring to the waterproof barrier integrated into the glove, this is not removable.The glove is insulated with Enduraloft insulation, which is a synthetic down. If you are looking for a removable liner, check out the Highcamp gloves.

The Ambit is listed under snowsport gloves, can I use them for alpine and ice climbing?

  The Ambit is geared more towards the sidecountry skiing community. We have dedicated alpine and ice gloves that would probably be better suited for those sports. They have removable liners and less fabric in places to reduce bulk. However you could still use the Ambit it is just not specifically designed for alpine and ice.

  As a non-modular glove, these are a very comparably warm to the Alti glove. With the Ambit, you also get the additional benefit of the TouchTec technology.
