- Excellent product marred by malfunctioning connector cable. (Review by Richard)
This is a beautifully designed and constructed pouch. I often ski or climb with my smartphone in a chest or trouser pocket, where it is subject to condensation buildup. Placing the phone in a ziploc always reduced its functionality, and carrying it in my pack is a less desirable option where the phone is an important safety item, since many of my activities occur where the cell coverage is good: lift-skiing, ski-touring, and climbing in Europe, or rock-guiding in the Bow Valley of the Canadian Rockies. The pouch is fitted with a four-conductor connector cable which normally would enable the use of a headset with built-in microphone and controller buttons, which is great for wearing under a helmet (especially ski); the process of fumbling for the phone or trying to talk with hands free can often be bypassed. If only... Unfortunately, the connector on this product only functions as a regular three-conductor cable, and the headset jack has difficulty seating into the female piece, which suggests that there's a construction problem. Since another item (Sensor Dry Holster) experiences exactly the same problem, and I've tried out different audio devices (which work fine with other four-conductor connector cables), it seems that this is a systematic problem with the pouch connector, unless I'm missing something. The good folks at OR might have been supplied with bum components.

- Awesome ! (Review by Bill)
This is a great waterproof cover/protector for anyone carrying a iphone/smartphone while rock climbing or skiing or any outdoor event.
I carry my smartphone in the top of my backpack while rock-climbing and skiing.
Have had several days of heavy rain on rock climbing trips, and had to use the phone while raining.....and not once did the phone get wet. And the ability to use touch tabs while in the case to activate the phone is awesome.
A wise investment for the outdoor Adventurer.
