I picked this up on sale on a whim, and I'm pretty pleased. I wear this hat when back-country skiing in the cascades, primarily on the skin up. It is a good compromise between breathability, warmth and shedding snow. If the wind picks up on a ridge, I can pull down the ear flaps. If there is sun, I've got a visor. It folds up nice to stow away in my pack for the downhill. Only have three complaints. First, is the hat is a little too big for my head - I wish there was maybe an adjustable band to tighten it up. Entirely my fault however for buying a size too big.Second, the ear flaps don't stay up really well - you either need to tuck them up under the hat (which is a little warm sometimes), or they stick out like little dweeb-wings (which does nothing for my game, already severely limited by a variety of factors I won't detail here). Last complaint... I can't remember - must not have been important. Anyway, this is my go-to hat for the skin track.
