Wow! (Review by trail man)
Quality

The warmest pair of mittens I have ever owned. 10 degrees or there today and my hands were almost hot. I usually take a large so I can put a smaller pair of gloves in to keep my hands warmer. No need with these babies. Yes, they're a bit pricier but well worth it.
If your hands get cold in the dead of winter, get these.
Very happy :)

Men's Alti Mitts™ (Review by By Griz)

Firstly I will say that I have searched for a long while for a glove that will perform in all conditions. On a snowboarding trip to Japan in 2008 I met a guy who raved about OR mitts and two years later I finally purchased a pair. I have used these mitts in a variety of conditions on skifields in Japan over two seasons. I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your hand sweating in sub zero celcius near blizzard skiing conditions. They are fantastic gloves. The newer model on the website has added an additional seam to the inner palm which is durable three millimeter cowhide. The liners come out easily for drying. The cuff is big an fits well over bulky arm jackets. The draw string is single hand tighten and release! The build quality is brilliant! Highly recommend these gloves don't worry about the money, your smile on a mountain will pay it back ten fold. OK that's all, good luck.

Great mitt's. Perfect for non-technical slogs. It has to be super super cold to need both the shells and the liners. Usually I take the shells and use a lightweight liner glove. In the event that I need to work a 'biner or rope I shed the shells do what I need then toss em back on.

Use these mitts regularly in minus temps in the backcountry/mountains with hiking poles.Warmest factory activity mitt available. The mitt inners bunch up regularly when used with poles, this could be improved by keeping the outside of the liner as a mitt but incorporating a glove type inner to the liner with fingers separated on the inside similar to a boxing practice glove. This would maintain the warmth of a mitt liner with the advantage and dexterity of a thin glove next to the skin. Also I feel the bunching situation and better grip could be improved by providing an adjustable wrist strap similar to the Alti Glove rather than the elasticated design currently incorporated. All things considered this would still be my first choice currently available on the market, but could be improved!

I live in Alaska and don't like to be stuck inside because it is too cold. With these mits you will never have cold hands.

Men's Alti Mitts™ (Review by By Manju)

I walk our dogs every night and during the cold Northeast winter nights my fingers used to get quite cold and numb despite several expensive gloves and liners. Finally, out of desperation, I decided to buy these gloves as a last resort before giving up my walking routine. I have been using these for a week and they are truly amazing!!! My hands and fingers stay warm despite sub-zero temperatures and Now I look forward to the dog walks!!

I tend to get cold fingers but never with this mitt. The breathability of the Goretex is amazing and I think that is why they are so warm. Fingers stay bone dry no matter what. My only complaint is sometimes they bunch up inside due to the removable liner. Mine may be a little big because I had to go up a size due to my long thumbs. Regardless, these are worth the high price because there is nothing else out there that is this warm but you still don't sweat in them.

Used for winter hiking/moutaineering the 48 - 4000' + peaks in the NH White Mountain National Forest where winter temps & wind chill dip well into negative F. Cool pull tab is a huge help when time and ease of use are both essential to keeping your digits warm & toasty. Exceptional features.Negatives- still searching, but not confident that any will be found.

This is a great pair of mittens. I was in between a M and a L on the size chart, but went with the large and am definitely happy with the size. My only complaint is that when I put the mitten on it feels like I want to have my hand deeper in the mitten. I think the fabric catches the notch in between my thumb and the rest of my fingers a little to low. It might just be a preference thing. They are very comfortable and kept my hands really warm during their first test in 25F weather.

These are my go to gloves for all of my pursuits. The shells are good for alpine/ice climbing transitions and belays. Include the liner with the shell to create a super warm combo suitable for all your 4000-6000m pursuits.

Men's Alti Mitts™ (Review by By Mountain Man Dan)

This mitten should be the gold standard for all other mittens in the Arctic and extreme cold ennvironments(-20F and colder)It is not to be underestimated or underused as this mitten is built to withstand abuse from missions and expeditions in Alaska, Pakistan and Afghanistan. The palm and articulating thumb allows the user to handle fuel, poles, ice axes, and larger crew served stoves. Insulation in the dorsal side of the hand gives the blood a warm flow to the fingers and greatly reduces the risk of frostbite. The extended cuffs provide a great snow and wind block to piercing winds and multiple forms of precipitation. There is a really good reason why a mountaineering legend would pick these mittens and I wholeheartedly concur! If you are planning on travelling to Alaska;or deploying to Northern Afghanistan or Pakistan, these are a MUST have on your packing list.
