ActiveJunky.com Review - Axcess Pant & Axcess Jacket
Monday, Nov 14, 2011
ActiveJunky.com reviews the Axcess Pant and Axcess Jacket. Testers loved both products and had great things to say about them:
Axcess Pants Review: "The verdict? Great, easy-to-wear pants. On the plus side was the freedom of movement permitted by articulated knees. A gusseted crotch encouraged agile climbing and aggressive turns while a brushed tricot waistband guarded against chaffing. More positives included the relaxed fit that encouraged day-long wear even as inner and outer thigh vents showed their worth during dramatic temperature swings. With EnduraLoft insulation limited to knees and rear, overheating was never a real threat as the mercury flirted with the mid-40s. In a nod to more technical pants, Axcess included a reinforced inside pant leg they termed "ankle guards." Spandex and mesh gaiters were concealed for timely deployment. In summary, Axcess is a contender for Best Temperature Regulator in sidecountry settings."
Axcess Jacket: "The Axcess Jacket is the pass-around outerwear that found much favor in Chile in late July across both disciplines. While Outdoor Research was tagged as more of an all-purpose brand by some in the test group, the Axcess challenged the five to open up their minds to the possibilities. Heads started nodding for different reasons. Some gravitated to the warmth of the poly lining and variable EnduraLoft insulation. Others unfurled the zip-out Thermodynamic balaclava to push through windy conditions. Still others found the jacket's shape generous enough for freestyle snowboarding without turning into an explosion of fabric for tuck-and-go skiers."
