Go back to grommets and string (Review by Jim )

The instep strap sucks. I still wear my old, now frayed, Rocky Mountain low gaiters with string and grommets when I shovel snow, go ice fishing or deliver heating oil. I hope I can find another pair of gaiters just like them somewhere.

A good quality gaiter (Review by Mark Hikes)

Got these after my Wrapids failed to stay on. They use a much stronger hook & loop material on these and I don't foresee them falling off as I walk. I prefer the snug fit of the Wrapid to these more loose fitting ones but they did the job. They go on easy, the H&L is strong, the bottom strap seems tough and never came unbuckled. Ideal gaiter for me would be the Wrapid with this H&L material. Until then this will do just fine.

Rocky Mtn Low Gaiters™ (Review by By Jack of all Trades... Master of None)

I bought 2 pair of these gators(1 for me & 1 for a friend), for a 50 mile backpacking trip to King's Peak here in Utah. I checked them online & they were highly recommended. We were carrying 65+lb packs over very rocky terrain. I loved my pair, they worked awesome. I never had any problems with the buckles coming undone, the gators stayed in place perfectly, and my legs didn't get too hot. They held up to slamming and scratching against rocks etc. The bottom strap is extremely durable. I wore my gators the entire trip even when scrambling over the very sharp rock that is all over. The strap nearly had any wear.Unfortunately my friend had problems with his buckle continually coming undone and so he'd have to keep stopping to fix the buckle. He had them on right but the strap kept coming out of the buckle. he didn't even wear them the whole trip(for unrelated reasons). He was a bit upset & wants me to return them for him. I hope his was just a fluke, I love mine.
