- Wear it every day (Review by Mike)
I love this jacket. I have had if for over 2 years now and still wear it almost every day. This jacket has held up to everything I could throw at over two years and still looks like it is brand new. The fit is a true to size M. It keeps the wind and the rain out on every occasion. I highly recommend this jacket.

Our corporate HQs bought these for us, great choice! My wife tried it on and demanded I by the woman's version for her! She loves it as well

- Less than waterproof, otherwise great. (Review by rohthomas)
In conditions other than driving rain, this jacket excels in its versatility. Walking into heavy rain and wind results in dampness, then sogginess, via the vertical seams at the front of the jacket (ie either side of the main zipper). None of the other (taped) seams have leaked at all, and the Ventia fabric itself seems quite impermeable.
Still a really good piece of gear - recommended.

It is the go jacket! I use and abuse this jacket. It is the best jacket to have if you could only have one. I leave in the vehicle year round in Montana, so I am prepared for whatever mother nature throws at me. It is the durable and functional item of clothing I have.

- Men's Mithril Jacket (Review by By CW2 Boase)
This is no ordinary jacket, it's simply amazing. I normally don't write reviews for anything, but I had to for this jacket. I needed a jacket for chilly weather on my Harley. So, yesterday morning was a perfect time to test it out. It was roughly 56-60 degrees (F). I only wore a t-shirt under this rather lightweight jacket and was skeptical that this was going to withstand 80mph on the highway. This jacket not only kept every bit of wind out at 80mph, but every single drop of rain water as well. I was actually sweating 10 minutes into a 90 minute ride. The taped seams are great and not even a hint of air got through the zipper. If you're looking for an amazing jacket that will withstand just about anything... look no further.

- Men's Mithril Jacket (Review by By Doug)
I use use this jacket literally every day during the spring, winter, and fall. During the winter I have to use a thin wool sweater as a base, as the jacket isn't too warm. Although with the sweater, it's warm enough to ride ride my bike to and from school all winter long in N. Idaho. It's also very waterproof. No amount of wet snow has ever penetrated this jacket. It's breathability is moderate. It's not a garbage bag and it's not goretex, but it suits my needs. The jacket does have one major flaw. The placement of the drawstrings for the hood inside the collar is terrible. I use them every day, and they make me angry every day. They may only be accessed by unzipping the jacket about eight inches. Additionally, the cordlocks on the drawstrings are abrasive to the chin when the jacket is zipped all the way up. This feature was so pervasive that I have actually altered the jacket to be adjusted from the outside of the collar, and have sewn a piece of fabric over the cordlock so it won't scratch my face. OR, I know you put the drawstrings inside the jacket because it looks better, but you need to fix this problem.Rant aside, I would buy this jacket again.

While this Jacket performs in a variety of conditions, I use it primarily as my main go to casual jacket for around town in a wet climate.

Great all-around jacket.I found the fit to be an excellent athletic fit (obviously a personal thing). I am 5'10" and 165.Just be aware that it is not meant for much warmth. The "fleece" lining is very light.

This quickly became my favorite jacket to wear. It was a last minute purchase but ended up being my best one of the season. The jacket is very durable and fits very well. I didn't expect it to be totally waterproof but it was. The inner fleece makes for a warm jacket in moderatly cold days. With this on under my OR Stormproof jacket while winter camping, I have no worries of ever getting cold.

- Men's Mithril Jacket (Review by By Paco di Bango)
I don't think I could ask more from a jacket. I have been everywhere from skiing glaciers in the Alps, trekking the Andes, and boating down rivers in the Amazon rainforest during a tropical rainstorm in this jacket. I have worn this from -10C to +30C. This is the only jacket I bring "adventure" travelling because it works well in so many different climes. It is completely waterproof. Even if the water gets past the DWR, it will not soak through the garment. The reinforced rim on the hood is nice because it provides good shade. The jacket has a good insulation level to provide versatility while being packable. Obviously it needs a good base+mid if you want to use it in really cold weather. I also like the fact that it is stylish enough to wear around the city. In most cases, wearing technical clothing in the concrete jungle makes one look like a clueless idiot, but I'm glad this jacket is an exception. Once again, good travelling gear. I felt just as comfortable wearing this jacket in NYC as I did in a hike though the Rockies.I bought this jacket for[...]. Great value.

This is truly a "Jack of All Trades" type of jacket. It'll feel right at home in just about any situation. I've had it for over three years and have no complaints.

This is the first OR product I purchased and I love it. It is my standard "go-to" jacket for cold, windy or wet weather. I'm a ski instructor and have even used it for skiing with a down sweater underneath. After wearing it for a couple of weeks I called OR to see if they made ski pants from the same material. If you want a durable soft shell jacket for everyday use, hiking, backpacking or ski touring you can't go wrong with the Mithril jacket.

I mostly use this product as a bad weather get from point A to point B, possible rain, or possibly really windy jacket. It hasn't disappointed me once.
