Men's Transfer Hoody™

Style# 56171OR

The soft shell Transfer Hoody provides serious protection form the weather, but when you're dialing up the intensity it breathes better than a hard shell jacket ever could. The stretch-woven soft shell fabric shields against the elements, and the soft fleece interior provides light insulation ideal for aerobic backcountry tours and hikes.

Quality

I love my OR products, and this jacket is no exception. The quality and workmanship are great. And OR is the only brand that fits me consistently from product to product.

Bought this jacket recently and held off from writing a review until I had used it in a few situations. Has quickly become my go-to jacket for multiple uses. Is warm/weather proof for around town wear but even worked perfectly for some spring skiing on a recent snow trip. The various drawcords and velcro fasteners allow a perfect combination of weather sealing and/or ventilation depending on the needs.Fantastic jacket at a great price.

Men's Transfer Hoody™ (Review by By Mitch-backpacker,climber,cyclist)

I have a name brand Gore Tex shell, which I have had for a while, and is a fantastic shell. However, it is not really the color or fit I feel fits with a business group setting. This jacket with its black/grey color and smart look fits well in a business casual setting. While I would probably not take it backpacking, it seems great for almost all other activities. I was on a business trip to Anchorage during warmer weather and this was a perfect jacket. It was heavy overcast 50's - high 60's and the warmth and water resistance provided bullet proof protection. I feel confident it would have kept me warm in much cooler weather and provided the breathablity for the hiking and bicycling activities we took in while there. It packs small and fits easily over a range of clothing. The fit is close but not overly tight. While I love this jacket, I am giving it 4 stars as taped seams would have made this a stellar jacket. Could also be a marketing thing, one of their other fine products may be exactly the same with taped seams but at an added cost and different name.

Men's Transfer Hoody™ (Review by By tontonuy5)

Sold my other bigger-brand hooded soft shell jacket and got this one instead because I didn't want to look like every other high-school/college kid hanging out at a coffee shop. Napoleon chest pocket has a lot of room for my smart phone and has a rear earphone hole. The other 2 front pockets are also spacious. When the jacket is zipped all the way up, the zipper does not rub and irritate my chin because it's tucked in and has a fleece-lined draft flap. Seams are not taped, though, so it's not totally waterproof. It's got a regular fit which makes it easy to wear with a long-sleeved shirt without the sleeves binding up and also provides enough space for layers should the temps go down.

This jacket fits great!! I am 5' 10'' and 175 lbs. I bought a large. Its roomy enough for a light fleece underneath and still slim enough fit to wear alone. Roomy armpit that doesn't restrict or bind. The hood is not helmet compatible but thats what I wanted! Good water/wind resistance. Great value from a brand that holds up!! A tee shirt, long sleeve fleece, this jacket and a thin waterproof shell and Im set for a day on the slopes in almost any conditions.
