Men's Highcamp Mitts (Review by By New England Skier)

I just got these today and it's October 17th so I can't comment on warmth. So I'll confine my comments to fit and build quality. I'm 6' tall and weigh 215 lbs. I don't have particularly large or meaty hands. But, based on a pair of gloves I bought last season being fairly tight in a L size and some reviewers feedback indicating these run a little tight, I ordered the Highcamp mitts in XL. I'm happy with the fit. I'd rather have a little room in a glove or mitt than have it too tight. The build quality is very nice with excellent attention to features like dummy loops so you don't lose a mitt on the chairlift and one hand pull closure of the gauntlet as well as one hand loosening. They aren't as bulky as the photos would leave you to believe. That's a plus for me. And they are really easy to pop on or off. The fleece inner mitt stays put nicely between the velcro tabs and the sticky silicone palms. As for warmth, I'll have to wait til the mountains open this year but that's the least of my worries. The Highcamp mitts seem really well designed and put together. And mitts always seem twice as warm as gloves for me. Don't know why I bought gloves last year. I'll keep the gloves around for days above 25F but most days, I'll be nice n comfy in these mitts.Based on competitive products, I'm happy with the value at this price. I bought these mitts based on experience with an Outdoor Research windstopper beanie last year and the Highcamp mitt doesn't disappoint.
