    Stretchy and Waterproof - WoooHooo

I used this jacket on a recent ice climbing expedition to Juneau, AK. I stayed dry and it moved with me. It keeps the wind and the water out while not feeling stiff like most gore-tex jackets. I think this jacket would work well for all-seasons and for both rock and ice climbing. Burly enough for ice, and lightweight enough to take on a summer rock climb that threatened to storm.

I have lived in this coat for 1.5 years now, having had a prototype to test for a winter, and now the production coat. All I can say is if you need waterproof/breathable performance like I do (ski touring in the super stormy Selkirks of British Columbia!) then you need this piece. Quiet and supple, stretchy and pretty durable considering how light this piece is. You won't be disappointed if you want and active performance waterproof piece of clothing!

I just used the Axiom Jacket for 4 weeks in Alaska--One week on Turnigan Arm backcountry skiing and Three weeks in the Ruth Gorge where we established two new mixed routes on Mount Bradley. I wore the Axiom the entire time I was moving. It performed exceptionally well across the board. When I was stopped, I pulled on my Chaos puffy and recharged for the next push. I was impressed at the end of the trip how well the Axiom took the abuse. This layer is all about keeping it simple and maintains broad functionality.

I have been using this jacket in the alpine for the past few months and have been really impressed. While being a fully weatherproof and breathable shell it is still light and the new GoreTex fabric is really suple and comfortable. The torso is cut for an athletic build, the hood is big to accommodate a hood and the cuffs are also nice and big to accommodate going over gloves.

It's all that I need and nothing that I don't, psyched about it.

This new gore-tex is awesome! So soft and quiet you almost forget your wearing a waterproof jacket. Very light for such a tough jacket and it really breaths. Nice to see a simple design, just what you need. I'm 5'8" and the medium fits good for winter layering, yet still works for the rainy season.

My Axiom Jacket doesn't weigh a thing, doesn't feel like a a plastic bag, packs down into nothing and just lives in my pack. The thing is stretchy! This is a sweet little hardshell, fits well under my harness.

It is not baggy loose, I am 6'2" and 180lbs, and I usually layer it with a baselayer and maybe a mid weight top underneath. In a pinch I could put it over a light insulation piece, like the transcendant hoody, but it isn't really cut for that. Does that make sense? You can check out a video of me skiing in it (orange coat) at the backcountry.com page for this product.

                    A:

The Axiom is a trim fit. It will have a more athletic feel than our other shells like the Furio or Mentor.
