Better than expected (Review by Rainydayrunner)

I used these mitts for the first time today on a very cold climb. It was 15 degrees at the base and 6 degrees on top. When I started, I was just using some liners and my hands would just not warm up. I switched to these mitts and within minutes my hands were completely fact, too warm! Keep in mind that I was ascending and working hard, not just standing around. I had to take them off soon as my hands were beginning to sweat. I put them back on toward the top and during a moderate workout my hands were totally warm. Once I reached the top, I switched to the Mt. Baker Modular mitt. I say the PL 400 mitts performed better than expected because they were not quite as thick as I expected for 400 total weight fleece. However, as others have said, the combination of pile fleece inside and smoother fleece outside is MONEY! It's like slipping your hands into warm luxury!

Men's PL 400 Mitts (Review by By offtraildog)

These are great mittens. I use them when throwing the frisbee with my dog in 35 degrees, during fall/spring hiking & backpacking and with OR mitten shells for alpine skiing.I wear a large and the wrist opening is sized correclty .. not too snug or too loose. These are light so I always stick 'em in my jacket pockets or pack when heading to the mountains.

Men's PL 400 Mitts (Review by By Angelo)

I bought these mittens about 3 years ago. I wear them for everything - backpacking, running, cycling and around town. They are great as standalone mittens and perfect for liners. Also, I can't bust 'em...much more durable than you would think.
