Details

Warm, compressible and incredibly lightweight, the Transcendent Vest™ is built to keep you comfortably insulated when the temperature drops, then stuff away into a corner of your pack when not needed. The vest's high quality 650 down fill insulation keeps you cozy during cross-country rambles or when you're huddled at camp, yet stows neatly for uphill slogs. For multi-day treks, it packs down so small you'll have a hard time not finding space to bring it along.

Very warm yet thin.

Cons

    Best Uses

    • Everything

I love this vest. It is warm and compressible, yet is still thin enough to wear as a layering piece.
It does infact stuff into the right hand pocket, and even has a loop to hang from a carabiner.
I did buy one size down because I wanted it to fit my torso nice and slim...worked out perfect.

Versatile it can be worn on the trail or out and about - the construction is second to none with the quality seams and sewing evident with it's tough wearing feel for a down vest.

Perfect as a mid layer under a shell or as an outer layer on crisper days.

The only thing is that it is sizing large so maybe some people might need to go down a size...

    • Q:

Does this vest have big inside pockets for gloves or climbing skins?
Asked on 11/21/2012 by Archibald from Utah back country

      • A:

Yes, I have one of these and love it. The inside lining of the pockets make deep inside pockets about 6" wide and 9" deep.

    • Q:

      I'm 6'1'', 175 lb, 41 chest, should I go with a medium or a Large?

      • Outdoor Research Employees

        A:

Probably medium unless your are planning on heavy layers underneath. The medium is a 44" chest and the large is a 47.

        Thanks for your question!

    • Q:

Does this fit the same as the mithril jacket? I want to know if the small will be too tight. I wear a smalk in everything else.
      Asked on 1/21/2011 by Anonymous

      1 answer

      • Outdoor Research Employees

        A:

No, the Mithril jacket is our Standard fit which tends to be a bit more loose than the Trim Fit of the Transcendent Vest.
