- Beautiful construction but really odd fit (Review by Jim)
These bibs are beautiful in quality, but they didn't fit, so they were returned. I'm 6', 160 lbs. I ordered the Medium size. They were snug at the waist, too snug in the crotch, and way-too long in the legs. Even with ski boots on, the cuffs would drag on the ground. A minor gripe: they cuffs are too wide, unless you're going for the 1970s disco look.
Sum: If you are built like Barbie's Ken, you might have better luck.

- Finally a perfect fit !!! (Review by skidawg)
wow a lot of whiners bitchin about fit ...well i must be old and weird or just abnormal...almost 5'11" (just under) in my stocking feet and 166 lbs 34" waist cuz gravity does its own thing when you approach 60. Have a bit longer inseam or legs vs a long torso. A size medium is money! Perfect length! Nothing more hidious than high water ski pants. Pants move really well with your movements with no bind. Want to say the guys at OR are super cool and let me try on anything with no pressure to buy from their facility in Seattle. They are just stoked that you are stoked about their product no matter where you buy it. Major Kudo's for that guys.

- Outstanding (Review by Eddie)
Just spent my first day in them and am impressed with the fit and function. Gore Softshell works flawlessly for keeping you dry on the wet snow and wet chairlifts that NW skiers experience, at the same time allowing vapor to pass through. Stoked to spend more days in them. (For reference I'm 5'8" / 33" waist / 180 lbs)

- Funny size... (Review by Just Reid)
I have no complaints of the fabric and features of these pants. Burly and super functional. I loved the bib and venting. Nice pockets in all the right places. Nice wide cut in the legs fit my massive ACL braces. Which is how I judge all ski pants on now.
But the sizing... I'm tall, skinny and in general have a hard time with pants but OR pants particular.
At 6'2" 180, with a 32 inseam and 32 waist.
The larges were way too long and very loose in the waist. Medium fit perfect in length but tight hips, crotch and seat. Very limiting my snowboarding.

- Rob A (Review by OR Needs To Do More "R" On These Bibs)
OK, these are clearly made from some of the best material of any available bib. These pants have a thin but fuzzy liner and would be really great...BUT...they are cut for a KEN DOLL! If you are all legs and have a little to no butt, you might find they fit well. They are wicked tight in the crotch and really long in the leg. Wouldn't want to have to crawl out from a tree well in these.
I am 6'1" and 205, basically athletic with a little gut (need more days on the mountain). I tried both the L and XL. The L were uncomfortably tight in crotch and upper thigh, but perfect length-wise. The XL were better in the crotch (but still a tad too tight) but the legs were sufficient for someone who is 6'4" or taller.
Too bad for OR because with a little more tailoring for the typical male build and they could hands down be the best bibs on the market.

- Men's Vanguard Pants (Review by By Ron McFarland)
I purchased these pants online from a national retailer and used the information on Outdoor Research's web site to confirm size options. It turns out the information for the Vanguard pant is not correct and when reviewed with staff via telephone they confirmed the inseam for men's large is 35" not 32" like the chart states.Challenge now is to spend the additional $$ to have them altered or start all over.

- Men's Vanguard Pants (Review by By meado)
This pant is for those that love the deep snow. No normal pant is going to keep the snow out when its deep and you are dropping the knee, or alpine turning. When it is not deep you can remove the bib and have standard pants, briliant. I do like my bibs a bit looser, but a pretty lame complaint. What i dislike more is getting snow all in my pants or having a wet belly and lower back because the normal pants do nothing for those areas. You can tighten the draw strings on the Jacket but the cold smoke will find its way in.
