- Rando Cap™ (Review by By Silverheels)
We use the hat for winter blue water sailing in the northern latitudes and for winter outdoor recreation at our home in the mountains. We bought the hat because we were tired of having to fuss with pairing headbands for ear warmth and baseball caps for eye protection from the sun. The inside is soft so it doesn't create static in your hair. The flaps stay closed tightly around your ears which is great for keeping the wind out and keeping the hat from blowing off in winter gales. It's very warm and waterproof and the visor is good for reducing sun glare. The only recommendations I have for improving the hat would be to make the visor longer in the front and have it come down around the sides more for better sun protection. It may run a bit small around the band. My husband normally wears a large but we had to get an extra large for him. Other features we liked are the elastic drawstring in the back, the wire-rimmed visor for getting the right shape, the overall comfort of the fleece lining, and the fact that it packs REALLY well. We'll be using this hat for many years to come.

I use this product when in an anaerobic situation. For example, I wear mine hunting (mostly upland game). When it is really cold, stormy, and windy this beast will fight back the elements. I like that I can velcro the flaps up to help let out some steam. The bill is long enough to do its job and not any longer. Style is lacking, but when I am in the situation described above all I want is to keep hunting. This hat allows me to do that.
