- Halo Sombrero™ (Review by By A formerly loyal customer of 15 years)
Wanted to replace a well loved one I lost after about 15 years. The vent seemed like a good idea as did the external headband adjustment, but since the elastic came out on the first attempt to adjust, none of that matters. Also the chin strap no longer locks, just slides, so where once you could keep your hat in the wind, the new version would just sail away. I would have paid the extra what? 50 cents or so for better, but better is not what Outdoor Research is interested in these days. Then it was next to impossible to speak to anyone about the issues with the hat AND possible replacements (I would have been willing to look at another model) but agent was so rude and trying so hard to get rid of me before I could say everything that I will never purchase from this company again.

I know someone who has owned a similare OR rain hat for years and they got me to buy one. It offers great protection and comfort when yo are in the outdoors while it is raining. Compared to a normal rain jacket hood it offers much clearer view, Free head movment and better hearing.
