Comments about M's Rampart Pants:

The pants work great! I wear them in the summer when I go backpacking. They are great at keeping my legs and feet dry for mornings when there is dew on plants along the trail. They also work as a great barrier to mosquitoes! They are also a good layer for cross country skiing or paddling in the winter when you want your legs to stay dry but don't want big bulky pants.

Comments about M's Rampart Pants:

First off: for the quality and versatility of these pants, the price is crazy! You will be amazed at the bang for the buck these pants provide! I picked up a pair of these thinking I would shove the in the bottom of my search and rescue go-pack for those just-in-case days. Well, I've ended up using these as loungewear for overnight cold weather camps more often than not! They cut the cold, are windproof, yet slim enough to chuck a gore-tex shell over them if the weather goes sideways. Yet again, the wizards of OR have outdone themselves with an outstanding no-frills fully functional all-around wilderness pant. Oh yeah, as far as the CONS go: it only comes in black...like every other pant out there. put it out in red or something cool!

  • Q:

Hi! This pants are for be used as a overpant or it's also ok using there as pant directrly for treking and hiking in outunm and winter? If the answer is NO, which kind of pants (trousers) we should use as underpant? Thanks!!

      A:

In the late fall and winter they can be worn as a stand alone pant or with a base layer underneath. In warmer temps the Equinox Pant makes a great trekking pant with the Rampart packed away in case the weather turns nasty.

      A:

The Rampart pants are great however, since they are a waterproof coated nylon they dont breath very well. Take a look at the Foray Pants (Gore-Tex Paclite) or Revel Pants (Pertex).
