Move free and easy on the trail in quick-drying, sun-protective fabric. The lightweight Equinox Pants™ protect from sun and rain with SolarShield construction and a DWR finish. Lightweight, Supplex® nylon offers UPF 50 protection in hot weather, while a DWR finish sheds moisture from foliage covered in morning dew. Articulated knees and a gusseted crotch allow for easy movement while scrambling up scree fields and taking long strides on the trail. Drawcord cuffs allow you to wear the pants up in warm weather, and a zippered side storage pocket with drain holes holds a GPS, headlamp or other trail necessity.

    Comments about M's Equinox Pants:

Purchased 2 pair when I was traveling for work approximately 12 years ago. Explored after work in all terrains, hiked in deserts, swam in Puerto Rico's rain forest, fished in humid tropical climates. Wore these pants traveling to Alps, out to dinner, and back to nice hotels. I have worn these same pants daily for 4 years since my retirement usually in the sun and salt water. After all these hard use years I only have a 1" rip in one where I swiped a nail and small cactus punctures in the other. My only complaint is they are not growing with my middle bulge.

      Comments about M's Equinox Pants:

Best pant for the money. going on season three with my pants and i have one in each color. Super comfortable and lightweight. Used them for backpacking in South America where it gets hot and cold, humid and dry and they worked everywhere. I really like that these pants come with a belt. The zipper broke on one pair but I think it was just me being overly aggressive cause i had to hold it on a bus trip for so long lol.

        Q:

I really like the design of my Equinox except for one thing: the fabric collects lint easily. I don't machine dry the pants only line dry. I wore them through the Himalayas last summer and they were difficult to keep presentable on the trip. Any suggestions?
Asked on 5/31/2011 by Jamalang from Seattle, WA

        1 answer

        • Outdoor Research Employees

          A:

Hello Jamalang. An option to reduce the lint collection on these pants is to use a techwash when washing the pants. If you use a waterproofing wash, the pants may have more of a barrier agaist lint. You can find this at any outdoor store.

The Equinox pants have a side pocket on one of the thighs, which is slightly narrower than a cargo pocket. Thanks for your question!

      • M's Equinox Pants

        Q:

Do these only come in one inseam length? Really liked the pants--but the 32 inch inseam is a good 2 inches too short!
Asked on 4/17/2011 by KW from Montrose, CO

        1 answer

        • Outdoor Research Employees

          A:

The Equinox pants only come in one inseam length per size. If you liked the fit of the pants, but not the length, the Equinox shorts or cargo shorts might be a good option.
