Women's StormBound Jacket

Style# 95056OR

Snow dumping, wind howling, fully epic days were what we had in mind when we developed the StormBound Jacket™, the warmest jacket in our ski and snowboard line. The waterproof and breathable Pertex® outer, cozy down insulation, and taped seams keep out the weather and capture your hard-earned body heat. A helmet-compatible hood, zip-out balaclava, and elastic powder skirt seal out flying snow, and double-sliding pit zips open up to let you vent excess warmth when the sun finally appears.

Sheds down and misleading specs (Review by V)
Quality

Overall the jacket is well designed, but I have the feeling some corners were cut to save money. Good engineering, bad execution? I bought this for my wife, and this is a review of our experience after a 2-week Christmas time trip.

As I said, the jacket held up well, but it shed down like crazy, to the point that the lint roller was decimated. My wife had to pick and choose carefully what she wore, if she wore a black wool sweater she looked like she lost a battle with a chicken. None of our other jackets (Montbell, REI, Rab, etc) have this issue.

Second, it was disappointing to read the label and learn that the jacket is only 80% down (20% feather). I would not have bought it if I knew that ahead of purchase.

We wanted to love this jacket -- it's very functional and has a lot of features we were impressed by. If you can live with these two issues, it's a great jacket, honestly. Kudos to the designers, but I think the bean counters had the last laugh.

Women's StormBound Jacket (Review by By 2cam)

Excellent warmth. warmest jacket I've owned. Love the down and the jacket not looking like your wearing down. Excellent outer shell. Hood fits well over helmet. Wore it in New Zealand and just skied Killington in States -15 below with windchill. Was warm throughout. I'm small. 5'4 130 pounds wear a medium. I wear a silk base layer and a mid weight underneath. plenty of room even being 36c. my only negative would be would like 2 inches in length of torso. runs a little short just below belt area. If added length would give it an excellent. High quality Great features. removable hood, Hidden balaclava etc are great. My favorite jacket for being warm!

Women's StormBound Jacket (Review by By Ellen)

I love how cozy this jacket is and comfortable since it is not that stiff. It is very stylish for a boxy jacket and I wear it more inbounds then backcountry but it stuffs well in my pack. I love the warm hood although it is a bit big if you don't wear a helmet.
