- This by far is the best hat I have ever owned (Review by Solo Sailor)
I don't know why the previous reviewer said this hat would not hold up under water and weather. I have sailed singlehanded to Hawaii with this hat, on through gales and squalls, sat on it while wet, worked with it on for over a year, squished it into sea bags, and just beat the heck out of it. It remains cool, comfortable, and completely intact (Well, ok, the shape is a bit different that it was when I bought it). I cannot say enough about how impressed I am with it.

- great but not durable (Review by Stephen)
Loved the hat but it is not really made for lasting if worn in the elements. If it will be kept dry it is nice and cool but rain, river or ocean will take its toll.

- Papyrus Brim Hat (Review by By Travelin' Joe)
This hat would rate five stars if the brim were a little stiffer. As it is, on windy days it tends to flip up, even though the brim is lined on the bottom. Other than that, it is a perfect sun hat for outdoor activities. The 360 degree venting allows heat to escape no matter which way the wind is blowing. The bottom of the top of the hat is also lined to protect the top of the head. It packs down to practically nothing in a suitcase, but pops right back into shape when you take it out. The brim is wide enough to provide shade for most of the head and neck, and always stays flat and stylish. Another great hat by Outdoor Research.
