Great construction with an awesome roomy fit. Ultra waterproof and light. Nice amount of pockets for storage, however they're a bit small. Originally I purchased a TNF Meru Jacket, but the lack of pockets made me return it for this one. Glad I did. Plan on owning this one for a while.

The Furio Jacket maintains OR's reputation by using only the finest materials, namely a hybrid combination of Gore-Tex Paclite and Gore-Tex Pro Shell fabrics. The Furio jacket works well as a layering shell over top a fleece, soft-shell, or insulated jacket. However, the Furio jacket does not collapse well into its own chest packet as well as the OR Foray Jacket.

      Comments about Furio Jacket!":

the furio jacket is one excellent combination of materials and design. I was looking for a jacket that would stand up to the heavy rain on the trail yet wouldn't be so heavy and bulky that I wouldn't want to carry it. well the furio hit that mark. the paclite body is excellent and have yet to bleed after many hours and trips in rain. It breathes really well too. the hem zippers from pit to waist are awesome for poncho style draping the jacket over your pack. the pro shell shoulders keep the rain out under the weight of a full pack, which was a problem i found with other jackets. its a durable shell for what it is too i tend to take on a little extra weight in my gear if it means it'll be more durable in the field. it hasn't pulled yet after encountering many bushes and branches that would see the material rip. the higher pockets are nice because they're still accessible over a harness when you're climbing. and the nice little OR touches like articulated arms, helmet compatible adjustable hood round out his jacket. I am 6'3" and 210lbs. the large fits me just like i want it too. enough room for a base and mid layer without any extra bulk. the sleeves also fit my long arms so that made me happy :) all in all my go to shell for any outdoor activity. If you need a do it all and come back for more shell this is it.

I have rode mountain bike trails, climbed frozen waterfalls, and climbed big rocks in this thing and it has held up perfectly over the last 6 months. Being winter, I wear the thing ever day over a softshell and it still looks brand new. Stylish, comfortable, and impervious to rain / wind.

          Comments about Furio Jacket!":

I've had this jacket on a number of backpacking/backcountry excursions and it has held up very well. In fact, it still looks practically new.

It keeps me dry when it's raining and it keeps me warm when it's windy, just as a good hardshell should. As with any Gore-Tex product it's not overly breathable during heavy physical activity, but the full length side zips are a big plus.

I'm 5'11" and the medium fits perfectly with a good amount of room underneath for layers. Great jacket that will continue to find its way into my pack.

          Comments about Furio Jacket!":

I'm a skinny guy with long arms (+6" index) and this is one of the few jackets I've been able to get that fits in both the body and the arms. The sleeve ends have a great detail that they taper from the inside to the outside so people with shorter arms will find the sleeves don't get in the way and people with long arms will still find adequate length. All in all this is a very thoughtfully designed jacket with several really useful details. It has the full zip seams on the side so backpacking in the rain is great, you can wear it like a poncho, cover your straps and keep moving. Important for this rainy part of the country. I've used it for wet road bike rides and found it breathable enough to handle a high level of aerobic activity. This is one of those don't leave home without it jackets.

            Comments about Furio Jacket!":

This jacket is incredible in snow and water. The hood and wrists are adjustable so you can tighten them down to keep the water out. The mix of Paclite and Pro Shell are awesome. The jacket is kept light while still being very abrasion resistant where you need it to be. The TorsoFlo zips are incredible and makes backpacking in the rain fun! The only downside I noticed is it can feel a little "boxy" and the sleeves are kind of baggy. It's great for fitting layers underneath, but it doesn't have the slim athletic fit other shells have. Other than that, the jacket is unstoppable.

              Comments about Furio Jacket!":

Our rescue team wanted a team jacket that could handle the rigors of mountain rescue. After a long search, we selected the Furio. It is light enough to bring along "just in case". When the mountain dumps on us, it keeps us dry despite the ugly conditions we routinely operate in. When the time came to make the purchase, every member happily ponied up the cash. After a full year of use, the jackets still look like new, perform like new, and show no signs of abuse from the heavy loads, dense brush, and abrasive rock that we encounter on every mission.

                Comments about Furio Jacket!":

I have taken this shell on many adventures and it has never let me down. It has been packn w me many times in pouring rain for days at a a time and I have stayed bone dry. It's light enough to throw in my pack even if I don't think I will need it. On a 5 day trip in Arkansas it rained the whole time my buddies other brand gore tex jacket had soaked through but I was dry and warm in my furio. So good I bought the pants too, but that's another review!

                  Hi!

I've seen your recommendations for sizing, but have not found "mine" yet.
I'm 6 feet 3" and 235 lb and have rather long arms. I will need good room for underneath layers. Will XL be sufficent, or do I need XXL?

I just received a Furio Jacket for Christmas and I absolutely LOVE it! Layering it with a down sweater works awesome, and it's a great fitting coat! My only beef is that the hood is huge! I know there is the pull chords on it to pull it in, but is it just so deep as to accommodate a helmet? I'm wondering if you have any advice for me, so that when i wear my hood i can actually see and it doesn't fall over my whole face.
                  Thanks!

Located in the center of the back of the hood there is cinch cord located just underneath a flap. Pull on it until it is suitable for you. Hope this helps out.

One shell CFM rating should be zero since it a 3L Gore-Tex shell so you won't feel any wind, but you will have to layer with something for the temperature range you're looking at.

It is just a shell. You will need to layer underneath it.

I love the full length pit zips to the waist; very effective, but why not use locking zippers at the waist? They tend to ride up unless you're standing still.

An XL should be a better fit. The Furio utilizes a standard fit construction and tends to have a more boxed fit to it compared to the other shell jackets in the line.

Thanks for your question. Yes, the jacket has a drawcord in the bottom hem so that you can tighten it. Please consult the size guide next to the sizing options for further questions on measurements.

Im trying to get sizing dialed for the Furio Jacket...I have a Mentor size small, and it fits cleanly on my torso but is restrictive in the arms. Forget about putting warm layers under it! I want the Furio to be able to accomodate a great big puffy jacket underneath. (Belay Jacket.) Is the cut on this jacket bigger to begin with than the Mentor? Will a medium do the trick? Im 5'8 and 150 lbs.

                    A:

The Furio will offer you a bit more room than the Mentor. The Furio is our "standard" fit compared to the Mentor's "trim" fit, giving you 1.5 more inches in the chest. If you are considering mid-weight layering underneath, I would suggest similar sizing. However, if you are looking to accommodate your very large puffy, you may want to consider sizing up.

                    Thanks for your question!
