I bought this for my 9 month old to wear when we are outside. The drawstring adjustment let me cinch it down to the correct size for my infants head and will allow it to adjust as he grows. I tried it on my 5 year-old nephew and it fit him too. The breakaway chin strap gives me peace of mind knowing that if it gets caught on something my son will be safe. Additionally, the hat is breathable and my son did not sweat a lot while wearing it. The brim offers more than enough face and neck protection.

I saw the child's Helios hat on amazon and it said bug protection in the title but not the description. On your website it does not say bug protection for this model. Does the child's Helios hat have bug protection?

  The kids Helios hat does not have bug protection, but the very similarly styled kids Sentinel Hat does. The Sentinel has the same size brim (2.5"), same 30 UPF sun protection rating, similar style, but has the additional Insect Shield bug protection.

  There is a sizing chart on the Helios Sun Hat Kids page. It uses the age of the child to determine the best size. For a 3 yr old, it recommends a small or medium, with the difference of a 20" diameter on the small and a 21" diameter on the medium. Thanks for your question!
