Farmer John probably wasn't the most stylish guy at the hoedown, but we bet he never left early because he was cold, either. Whether you're ice climbing, storm skiing, or cuttin' a rug, our version of this classic insulating layer provides the perfect combo of warm fleece where you're most exposed to the elements and breathable light fleece where your body needs to let heat escape. The one-piece design also eliminates the overlap of multiple bulky layers, and keeps wind and snow out of your plumber's crack. We added Napoleon pockets for storing essentials and a rainbow zip to dump heat.

I am 6'4" 225 lbs. I purchased an XL and it fits great overall. lots of motion with no sleeves. Front and rear full zippers for restroom brakes. Good quality. Only wish is just a bit more torso length. Slightly tight fit in the underpants when I stand up really straight. I am very long, so this is standard, being very tall. Overall I definitely recommend.

  • Q:

    I sweat A LOT, no matter how cold. I'm looking for something to wick and keep me dry and warm but not too warm. Will this dry out even after absorbing from the sweatier users? I realize this is a vague question, so I'll say that I find that under armor cold gear absorbs great but then stays soaked and keeps me cold. How would you say this product compares to something like this?

    FYI - planning on using this under your radiant pullover & alibi jacket for Presi Traverse, Ranier, Shasta, etc for context.

      A:

      The great feature of fleece is it still insulates even when wet. This product will wick, but will need some airflow to to dry. I am not familiar with the Under Armor cold, so I cannot compare. If you are using the Pullover and Alibi with the suit, this set up should breathe fairly well, to dry the inner layers.

      I would suggest a size large for the length, I am 6' 2" myself and use the XL, but a Large would work. I think a medium would be much too short.

  • Q:

    I second the No. 1 question. The zipper in this image doesn't appear to go low enough to really allow you to use gravity to your advantage. I have the old Saturn Suit with the through-the-crotch zip and that worked marvelously on Denali. How is it dealing with stretchy fabric when it's sub zero and I have gloves on. Please provide more information. Thanks! The design overall, though, is awesome. So great to keep the wind at bay on the backside in spindrift and high winds!

      A:

      The front double zipper goes down all the way to the crotch seam and the rear horseshoe style drop seat has a double sliding zipper as well. The zippers slide very well so the fabric stretch is not really an issue.

    Uh, so how does a guy, uh, answer the call of nature here? And I'm referring to number 1, not 2.

      A:

      The front zipper is double sliding so you can un-zip from the bottom when nature calls.

  • Q:

    Is this stretchy, I am in between a medium and a large and am trying to determine if I should get a large and have it loose or medium and have it snug. Thank you

      A:

      I would recommend going a size down as this is meant to be the very base layer when you are out on the mountain or in cold weather. Below are the waist measurements for each size to give you an idea of which may fit better for you.

      M = 31-35" (relaxed to stretched)
      L = 34-38" (relaxed to stretched)
