marginal on waterproof

Bought this jacket about 2 months ago. Just wore it for the first time in a decent rain and was disappointed. Significant dampness on the inside of the fabric. It was a good thing I had a fleece top on under the jacket or I would have been soggy. I had on rain pants from another manufacturer that were dry as can be.

  • Q:

How does the sleeve length compare to that of the igneo jacket? I tried an igneo in size M and the sleeve length was far too short, but the other dimensions were ok.

Does the revel fit the same as the igneo? what are the major differences if any, in terms of fit?
Asked on 12/4/2012 by Nicholas from United States

      A:

      Sleeve Length
      Medium 36 1/2"
      Large 37 1/2"

The Igneo has a much roomier fit as it features a Relaxed Fit while the Revel incorporates a Standard Fit.

  • Q:

Is this jacket windproof? With a very heavy inner liner, is this useful for high wind and low temps?

      A:

This jacket features a waterproof/windproof outer shell and would be a good option for those lower temp days.

  • Q:

How does the Pertex shield compare to Goretex in terms of breathability and waterproofing?
    Asked on 8/20/2012 by Chris

    1 answer

    • Outdoor Research Employees

      A:

Both waterproofing and breath-ability tests done by each company came out relatively the same. It also depends on what type of Pertex or GORETEX the jacket is using. The Revel shell in our Revel Trio is made up of 2.5 layer 40D Pertex Shield and will be a little more breathable than most jackets in our line.

      Thanks for your question!
