Summit For Someone
Summit for Someone is a mountaineering fundraiser to benefit Big City Mountaineers, a nonprofit recreational mentoring program for at-risk teens. Participants pledge to raise money for BCM and climb one of North America’s premiere mountains with a guide. SFS is the primary fundraiser for BCM's programs, which show teens a different perspective by taking them into wilderness areas in California, Colorado, Minnesota and the Pacific Northwest, with a one-to-one ratio of adult volunteers as positive role models. In 2008, funds raised by Summit For Someone participants helped provide 2,500 program days to BCM teens. For more information, visit www.summitforsomeone.org.
