RATING AND REVIEWS

Love this jacket

On day 1 I was in the pouring rain and mud building a mtn bike trail...on my knees wrestling with a rock. I realized it probably wasnt a good idea to be wearing my brand new jacket...but thats how i roll...my gear needs to be tough and durable and protect me from the elements. The Large fit me (5'9" and 180) perfectly and is not at all restrictive around my shoulders / chest. I like how the cuffs fit and are adjustable - as well as the waist cinch. I appreciate the burly front zipper and the fact that it is able to open / vent from the bottom. The armpit vents are great and while exerting myself in the cold i was able to keep my temperature under control. When i stopped for a rest - I zipped everything closed and noticed the difference. It packs down nice and small..not as small as the Helium II..but then it feels suitably thicker and more durable than the Helium. I am pretty stoked...this jacket will be used for mountain biking / trail building and will be an emergency jacket in my backpack when i head out for a split tour without my full ski jacket. It passed the test on day 1 and I am ready for another PNW winter

Great jacket, if it didn't have such a strange fit

This jacket style looks great. I love the grey and orange. Unfortunately, the sizing of this jacket is alittle strange. It is tight through the chest and torso, but the sleeves are too long and roomy. I tend to be a pretty standard size male, 5' 10" and 175 lbs. and in good shape. I would think the sizing of this would only work for a minority of people who are slender and have long big arms. I sent it back, so I can't comment on any functional issues.

Great lightweight rain jacket

5

This is a great lightweight and affordable rain jacket that you can always have with you when you're on the go or traveling and not having to worry about weight or bulk slowing you down. This is a great jacket for limited rain exposure but I have not tested it for prolonged periods of time.

An excellent lightweight hard shell

5

The overall fit of this shell is quite good. I am 6.0' with a large frame -- I purchased the XXL because I wanted a shell with room in the chest & shoulders for layering. This product did not disappoint. I can wear 2-3 base layers including fleece and still retain full arm movement without placing stress on the seams around the shoulders. Very satisfied.

Perfect for general use

Looking for a replacement rain jacket to a north face I had that feel apart. My wife lover her OR rain jacket so I thought I'd give it a try. It fits great, not too snug so I can layer as needed but not bulky. I too enjoy the full pit zips which allow for more ventilation or room for a day pack underneath if needed. It's just what I wanted for hiking and traveling.

I wore this jacket during a 2"/hour rain, and stayed perfectly dry. The hood works great, and i walked around like it wasn't even raining.

Use it on trail crews and they say it works well until they have a torrential down pour and everything is wet.
