4 Reasons You Should NOT Miss Rocktoberfest

The temps are lowering, the rock is calling. And Rocktoberfest is just around the corner—Oct. 6-8 in Campton, KY. Outdoor Research athlete Shingo Ohkawa will be teaching clinics, and has a pocketful of reasons you should be there. But don't take it from us. Here's what he says.

Don't miss:

1) The clinics. I can think of no better place than the Red River Gorge to enroll in any number of clinics—climbing instruction provided by some of the best athletes and volunteer local guides—in the biz. Brush up on your skills, or try something new—it's an opportunity no to be missed!

2) The music. Saturday nights feature a number of attractions at the venue, but the party's crescendo involves a DJ and will be a great time!

3) Ale 8, breakfast at the Rock House, Miguel's Pizza, the fabled "Beer Trailer." These are just some of the iconic, "not-to-be-missed" delights of the area. Be sure to try them all!

4) The community. Perhaps the very best thing this annual event has to offer is the solidarity you'll feel being a part of it all: preserving access is everyone's concern, whether you reside nearby in Slade, or are visiting from abroad. The southern hospitality, combined with impeccable, varied stone, compels us all to take ownership of this remarkable resource.
