Designed By Adventure: Ferrosi Pants
When the customer review section on a product’s page is one long scroll of five-star reviews, we know we nailed a product. The Ferrosi Pants are one of those spot-on, versatile items that seem to last forever and work for just about any adventure you wear them into.
“I love these pants.”
“You won’t regret buying these!”
“Wear them EVERYWHERE!!!”
“Mes pantalons préféré!”
Those are just a few of the real-life comments. Here’s why customers are so gaga for these pants:
The Ferrosi Pants are the perfect combination of light and stretchy plus tough and durable. The 96% nylon, 14% spandex, 90D stretch-woven Ferrosi fabric is a magic union of contradictory characteristics: soft yet abrasion-resistant, highly breathable yet sheds light rain and wind, stretchy yet structured, and warm when it’s cool yet surprisingly cooling and quick-drying when it’s warm.
Ferrosi Pants go climbing, they go paddling, they go hiking. And all the qualities that make them great for those things also make them perfect for traveling. They’re light enough for summer, but layer nicely over base layers for other seasons, too.
“The Ferrosi Pant is unique in that it’s a single weave, which can tend to over-drape,” says Jason Duncan, OR Director of Apparel. “The fabric has nice structure, though, which makes for such a great fit and look without sacrificing the functional need to bend, move, and scramble on the rock.”
Both men’s and women’s versions have wide belt loops and brushed tricot-lined waistbands that lay softly against the skin. The women’s version also has a low-profile drawcord to adjust fit at the waist without a belt, so it fits perfectly under a harness.
Five-pocket styling makes sure you can fit a phone, a knife, chapstick…maybe not a selfie stick, but most other small essentials. The pant has two front slash pockets, two zippered rear pockets, and one zippered thigh pocket. This placement makes it easier to access your goods when wearing a harness, too.
The knee construction is articulated so there’s no restriction when you’re making a foot-to-hand match on lead or lowering into a deep crescent-lunge stretch after a long day of hiking with a heavy pack. The ankle fit is adjustable with elastic drawcords that stow in the interior and stay out of the way, so if you’re wading through a stream, you can even cinch them up above the calf or knee to stay dry.
Weighing in around just 10 ounces for both men’s and women’s versions, the Ferrosi Pant packs perfectly—if you ever decide to take them off. And multiple inseam offerings with a wide variety of color options make the Ferrosi Pant an outdoor wardrobe staple worth stocking up on.
