Employee Favorites: Gear For Summer Adventures

Every good session deserves a refreshing reward and lucky for Outdoor Research employees, the burgeoning brewery scene in our ‘hood provides instant gratification.

We caught up with a handful of employees at the newest brewery to hit SODO (south of downtown, or for you old schoolers, south of dome), Seapine Brewing Company. After a beautiful day in Seattle, most had just come from the outdoors, ready to swap thoughts on gear and beer.

As some of our best unofficial wear-testers, we got the scoop on what they love wearing for what they loving doing—and which beer best quenched their thirst afterward. Just for kicks, we also asked them to give an answer without a question.

The Ferrosi Summit Hooded Jacket is our most rugged Ferrosi piece that’s built for the alpine. Though technically a soft shell, this jacket can really take a beating with Cordura® fabric in the main body, which provides awesome abrasion-resistance while shrugging of wind and light rain. For extra protection, the Halo Hood seals out bad weather without limiting peripheral vision.

The award-winning active insulation of the Deviator Hoody provides the perfect amount of air permeability and warmth for high intensity pursuits. Polartec® Alpha® insulation dries quickly and circulates airflow for incredible breathability, and Polartec® Power Grid™ in the hood, sleeves and back panel wicks moisture and keeps you comfortable.
