Tibet via Buick
Inspired and curious about Japanese photographer Tamotsu Nakamura's several expeditions along China's Sichuan-Tibet Highway, we decided to have a look. In January and February, Bruce Normand, Marcos Costa, Garrett Bradley, and myself traveled nearly 5000 kilometers, retracing Nakamura's journey through the boonies of Sichuan, Yunaan, and Tibet searching for unclimbed mountains. We found mountains. But along the way we also found some police officers, deep fried cat, an exploded oil pan, and lots of wonderful people.
