The Utah Avalanche Center provides avalanche awareness, education, and daily reports of conditions and forecasts state-wide. We also develop avalanche awareness and educational products that been adopted world-wide. The Utah Avalanche Center program is a collaborative partnership between the US Forest Service and the non-profit Utah Avalanche Center, funded by federal, state, county, and city funds as well as business and private donations.
Fun Fact: Most of the UAC employees have other summer jobs, including firefighting, guiding, mountain search and rescue, and cherry farming. Three employees work for the UAC year-round.
