RATING AND REVIEWS

Robust & versatile glove.

A little bulky feeling with the liner and she'll together. Excellent quality construction.

Very warm!

All of OR's well-insulated gloves feel tight across the palm due to the partial flexion position they are built to (in orthopedics we call this anatomically neutral, not sure the term for clothing). I was worried about how these gloves would work for the alpine scrambles in the Cascades but so far I don't notice any problems. These are thick enough that it requires a little more effort to grip my axe while walking but I can grip 9.2mm rope no problem. The biggest benefit is warmth and after freezing my fingers off up Rainier last spring I am quite happy with these on Adams and a few others this year.

Solid material. Solid gloves.

Gloves have a very solid feel to the internal and external material. The only annoyance with them are the inserts--I use my own inserts instead of the ones they came with. This seems to be a common problem with expedition level gloves. I love these gloves and would get them again.

Great insulation

Took these gloves out in -25C a few times, held up amazingly well. The liner gloves made this system much more versatile. The gloves are tough, waterproof and retains warmth at fairly low temperatures.

I would buy a different glove.

Has all the right technical materials but the fit i for me was awful, unless you have hands built of legos. Very boxy gloves. The web material between the thumb and index finger is quite short and prevents you from spreading your thumb out. Kind of like having an elastic holding your thumb to you hand. I was really looking forward to using this technical glove. I also bought the 3 finger gloves and they are amazing.

Brrrr

I worked in a freezer. Temp was set to -25 celsius. My hand would be cold and very difficult to move after 45 minutes. I also found them slippery. Stitching started to fall apart after 2 weeks. I still have the red inserts. I let my kid use them for his Spider man costume. I found these gloves a waste of money. I even tried the mitten version. Same results

Love these gloves!

4

Love these gloves, worn them half a dozen times now on a few different outings hands have yet to be cold. From avalanche training days to personal ski outings! very comfortable gloves. Two things I have noticed that OR needs to add is a soft spot on the glove for wiping cold, wind irritated noses and goggles. And to bring back the webbing tab on the tension release mechanism at the cuff of the glove. I noticed that on older models of the glove they had this piece of webbing, it is a small thing but it would make releasing the gloves when they are on much easier.

How to measure

Measure around a flat hand at the knuckles,do not include your thumb. Also measure your hand length from the base of your palm to the end of your middle finger. Use the larger of the two measurements to select your glove size.
