RATING AND REVIEWS

Overall good but I'd change a couple things.

3

I like the overall design but two things could be better. The pitzips don't zip/unzip easy enough to permit one hand use. I need one hand to zip up, one to hold the bottom from pulling up, and one to keep the zipper straight. I tend to zip and unzip the pits a lot due to my activity levels. Wish they were easier to use with one hand in one motion. Forget using them with gloves. The helmet compatible hood doesn't really work well for me without a helmet. If I draw the adjustment enough the drawstring fits behind my ears causing them to stick out like Dumbo. Ha ha. I wish it had a regular adjustable hood that wasn't compatible with a helmet. I'm not a mountaineer. I'm a professional but helmets aren't needed for my outdoor activities. I love the weight and pocket layout. The fit is exactly as described as well.

Bomber shell, you won't regret it

Great for climbing and hiking. Compared it to a friends shell that cost much more and we both agreed this one was just as good. Great deal.

Perfect jacket for rainy weather!

5

Best jacket to survive western Washington's wet winters. I also purchased a down jacket to wear a layer beneath this making it the perfect extreme weather combo. Blocks the wind and rain with ease and has never wet through. The hood is alittle big for casual wear (it is adjustable), but still functions...perfect when wearing skiing helmet.

This is the Do anything shell

So I have had this shell for 2 years now. First off it looks brand new even though it has been in and out of vehicles and packs for the entire time. You never know the true capacity of your gear until you really need it. I recently had some sunny spring ski days and the jacket was perfectly vented and breathable for the warm weather use. The next day was 100% opposite in conditions: cold, very wet and very windy. To make matters worse, I left the house in a hurry (powder day) and did not wear the appropriate layers. Not to worry, Furio to the rescue! I was warm enough, and 100% dry inside the jacket. I was able to "batten down the hatches" and seal the coat up to keep my upper body warm and dry. No need to go back in for more layers! A very well designed garment that came through for me when I needed it.

Solid Jacket

I've been wearing Foray jackets for over a decade. I've taken them to the PNW, SE Asia, Antarctica, the Arctic, and the Alps. I bought Furio jackets for my parents over ten years ago and they are holding up well. I initially went with the Foray because I needed something lighter. Honestly, I bought the Furio because it was on sale, will work a little better for skiing, and because I was told I needed a bright colored jacket so I'm "easier to spot" on the slopes or when on my bike in the dreary PNW and/or Geneva, Switzerland winters. I still think the Foray is the most versatile rain jacket that OR makes, but I'm happy to have added the Furio to the arsenal. You can't really go wrong with either jacket - the Furio is just a heavier (and I assume more durable) jacket.

Like wearing winter armour

5

Absolutely love this shell. I work as a wildlife biologist and I'm in the woods bushwhacking in waist-deep snow on a regular basis. The jacket was breathable, warm, comfortable, and it felt extremely durable - wasn't worried about tearing it on bushes or branches as I plowed through them. It also looks great. Chest pockets are great for having easy access to essential items (for me, my phone, radio, etc). I am 5'8", 155 lbs, with about a 31 inch waist (slim/athletic build) and I got the medium. It fits a little big on me with no underlayers, but I bought it as part of a layering system and it fits perfect with a mid-layer underneath (fleece or down jacket, whatever your preference). I love this jacket, it made me feel like a wilderness warrior wearing winter weather armour! Highly recommended.
