RATING AND REVIEWS

Great Compression Sack

5

Great little compression sack, does what it is designed to do. I use it to carry my down jacket. It is easy to pack as it has a wide opening and easy to compress with the four straps. I have various of these sacks in different sizes and appreciate them. Once you use them you will wonder how you ever did without them.

great space saver

I purchase this bag to save pack space on extended ski tours and traverses when I want to take an extra base layer, socks and a mid wieght layer in case the temp drops. It did the job really well without adding to my pack wieght. I will be purchasing another just a little bigger for my sleeping.

works just like it should

squishes my 0 degree down bag into just the right size, not too much strap finagling required

Fits my giant synthetic sleeping bag

I use this for my synthetic MEC Perseus sleeping bag, which is huge, but that I love. This sack makes it slightly less huge when packing it up, which is what I was going for.

Oddly Shaped

This product didn't work for me. The shape of the bag is so narrow that it won't fit in my pack very well. I would rather have the sack be wider so that it didn't turn into a long tube! Also, beware of the way the straps are sewn on to the sack- looks like they need reinforcement.

10L Compression Sack

I have the 10L size and can squeeze my -20 sleeping bag into it. Well made and has held up to the abuse of a jamming a too big sleeping bag inside. Super lightweight and easy to stuff since the material is so slippery.

It's the only compression sack I use. Great performance.

It works.

This is a superb compression sack. I've been using mine for years with synthetic bags, down bags, sometimes both at the same time! The stitching is tough and hasn't failed despite really cranking on the straps to squeeze the contents as much as possible to fit in a small pack. It is very effective at compressing its contents.

15L ultralight compression sack

Works great to stuff my older synthetic 15deg REI sleeping bag. Also works well for clothes when backpacking. Seems strong and durable. The pocket in the lid is nice - haven't used it to stuff the sack into itself, but have used to keep small items contained. Will definitely buy a few more in different sizes for traveling & backpacking.

Light with a hidden feature...

After looking for a compression sack that not only saved on weight, but offered the strength to bring a weekend kit of clothes down to size, I finally chose OR's Ultralight Compression Sack. I knew that my pack already had a rain cover, but didn't want to go the route of a dry compression sack due to weight issues. I had figured that the material that they used here, was also that of a previously purchased pack of Ultralight Ditty Sacks. I had tested them under the kitchen faucet to see how long they would repel water and I was surprised that after a minute of holding it under the water with a roll of toilet paper inside it was completely dry. If you are looking for a compression sack, that hides itself as being a dry sack under protected conditions, this is the one. I wouldn't use this as a true dry sack, but inside a pack, covered by a rain covered, this should offer more than sufficient water protection for my clothes and sleeping bag.
