- Nailed it. (Review by Geoffrey)
Love these shorts for running, multi day backpacking, and going to the gym. A bit too sporty for just hanging out. The built in underwear/liner thing is great, less laundry! I ended up getting 3 pairs because I liked these so much.

- Great standard piece of gear (Review by Carl)
My primary activity in the summer is trail running and I own three pairs of these shorts (one in each color). I love them. There is nothing I would change about them. They are a great running short with a small pocket in the back and a good liner.
On super hot days the blue color shows a little bit of sweat, but you don't notice it unless you are looking for it. I have taken these shorts through the Grand Canyon R2R2R and they performed well in the heat.
Great piece of gear, like I said I use them ever week and there are no wearing or use issues I can think of. If I could only choose one I would probably go with the black - but that is because I am boring!

- Nice summer running short (Review by Scooter)
I was not sure from the description if this was the type of short I was looking for, so I'll make it plain--the inner short is a long compression-type short (about the same inseam as the outer short). It's not the brief-type liner you'd find in, say, swim trunks.
The outer short is nice and light, with good stretch. I have very thick thighs and while the fabric pulls tight when I am stretching, movement is not impeded. Breathability seems very good.
I knocked off a star because I think that the rise on the inner short is a little long--I have to hike them up in order to get them "up there" so that my inner thighs don't chafe. I just turn the waistband over once so that the drawstring ties on the outside rather than the inside. But I am a stocky build, so all my stuff fits long. If you are more typical in build, it will be better for you.
Overall, I dig them.
