- Great Jacket! (Review by Daryl)
I live in Montana and can attest that this jacket is wonderful. Keeps me warm when only wearing a tshirt or any other light shirt outside in the subzero temps. It's lightweight and can easily be stuffed into a pack or bag. On a recent honeymoon to Amsterdam it kept dry during light rain and the cool fog that sometimes blankets the city. Overall great winter coat. A nice upgrade from the huge puff jackets that can make you look and feel uncomfortable since you aren't climbing Everest.

- Great Jacket (Review by Thane)
I love this coat. I am 6'2", 200 lbs with a tall athletic build. I always need sizes in long and in Watertown New York, wearing layers under a coat is essential.
I was worried about ordering just a large, but I went ahead and bit the bullet since all my other coats are large. This coat is simply fantastic. The sleeves are long enough when my arms are out-stretched, the material is thick enough to crawl in without damaging, and there is enough space in there for a few under layers. Hats off to OR, it's a great coat.

- Stylish and durable slim fitting winter jacket (Review by Aziz)
I would highly reccomend purchasing this coat. It is extremely light for a jacket this warm and durable. The only immediate down side I see is the lack of buttons on the flap covering the zipper besides at the top and bottom as a previous reviewer had stated. I am 5'11" 180 pounds and the large fits me pretty well with room for another layer if I needed it. This is my first outdoor research purchase and i am pretty happy with it so far.

- Whitefish (Review by g.nectarine)
Impressed with the quality as usual with OR. Very warm, and the fabrics seem like they are extra durable. I love the fit, and think OR should make more jackets that fit like this. A little longer in the sleeves and torso, with a bit of a trimmer fit. Looks sharp enough to wear out and about, and is built tough enough to wear out working. Plenty of good pockets, and the zippers are fast and easy to use. The zippered hand pockets work well to keep your hands warm when it's extra cold or a bit windy. Looks good with the hood on or off. If you're looking for this style of jacket, go for it! You won't be disappointed.

- Well built, comfortable and aesthetic (Review by Chris)
I bought the navy blue. I used to wear TNF down jacket for years but since the zipper broke on the last one I had, I wanted to try something else. This jacket combines style, confort and quality. It is so well designed. Zippers made of metal and extra lining at the elbows area are some exemples. I am very pleased with this investment (yes I definitely qualify this as a long term investment) and I highly recommand this product. FYI I live in Québec and I can testify that this jacket will keep you warm in very low temperatures.

- Pleasantly surprised! (Review by Joshua)
I've got a handful of "almost warm enough" jackets. I live in Portland, Maine, and it gets pretty seriously cold here. Due to personal style choices and necessity, I've become a layers guy. Lots of layers. That's all fine and dandy, but sometimes I just want to be warm enough without an extensive wardrobe planning process. This jacket is going to do the trick. On its own, it might not be enough for the below zero with even colder wind chill days, but I wouldn't be wearing it without something underneath anyway. I was a little worried about the fit based on the other reviews, but it fits as it should. I am 5'11" and 170lbs and active. I don't hit the gym and don't have an overwhelmingly muscular build, but I'm a pretty normal looking healthy dude. I wear a size M in just about everything. Tees, shirts, generic pants, other jackets, etc. This jacket is not an exception to the rule. It fits as I hoped it would. I can comfortably wear a thick sweater underneath. I am also very glad it doesn't have velcro all over it. It just has it in two places where the hood tucks in at the collar. Velcro always attracts bits and pieces from all of my other clothing and ends up looking dingy. I am confident this jacket will stay looking fresh for a long time. Thanks for making a good product, OR!

- Awesome (Review by Erik)
This jacket is fantastic just like all my other OR jackets. Looks great. As stated below, it is a bit more snug, but it is nothing that takes away from the jacket or your ability to function in it. I am 6'00" and 190 lbs with a muscular build. A large fits just fine for me (so do all other OR jackets). Very warm and stylish. Had it in the mountains of Colorado and the cold, wet weather of the midwest.

- Excellent (Review by Matt)
I've worn this jacket in Oslo this winter and I can highly recommend it. As the other reviewer stated, it is slightly slimmer than my Foray jacket...but not much (I'm 6'2 and 185lbs and wear the Large in both jackets). I would've been disappointed with the next size up.
Temperature: I find it's suitable to about 40F if we're just standing around (I usually wear a T-Shirt for a base layer and a light sweater or flannel shirt as a mid layer). If you're walking, it's comfortable down to 20F. I usually prefer colder weather (we keep the house about 60F during the winter), so adjust accordingly. My friend has the Floodlight and it appears to have much more down (plus 800-fill compared with 700-fill for this jacket), but this jacket is warm enough for most occasions.
Downside: The storm flap only has buttons at the top and bottom. It still looks normal now, but I think one day it might fold backwards (and look really weird). Small risk for a great jacket!

- great jacket but sized very small (Review by TJ)
Ordered a Large as I have another OR jacket in large, it fits perfect and was described as "Trim Fit". This jacket is listed as "Standard Fit", so sounds like a no brainer to order large again. Not so much, the Whitefish is sized extremely slim! to the point the sleeves ride up and the shoulder is tight across the back and the hard to zip at the hem. I notified OR and they concocted a story that this jacket is; I quote..."designed as "mountain life" piece and not an active apparel piece. This is why you were having trouble figuring out your fit since a running shoe in a 9.5 isn't going to fit the same as a dress shoe in 9.5 since they are cut and designed for different applications." Comparing a jacket fit when you have only 3 sizes (S,M,L) to shoes that have a large range and half sizes seems like a stretch to me, and FYI I wear size 10 shoes no matter what the style and purpose.. That all being said be aware that this jacket is not a "standard fit" treat it as a "slim fit", and do your self a favour and save the hassle and extra expense and buy one size up. Other than that its a great jacket, looks good and well built. Note to OR, if you have various sizing schemes make it more obvious to the consumer.
