my go to (Review by nickyp603)

love this jacket. Perfect layer for an active life. I've been wearing this jacket over layers this winter fat biking and skate skiing. Light and breathable, comfortable and true to size. Packs well and looks great.

Great layer (Review by Char)

This is an awesome layer for everything from ski touring to rock climbing to bike riding.

Great so far! (Review by Jacqueline)

I haven't gotten to test this jacket in warmer weather so I didn't give it 5 stars. However, using it as a light-weight cover over a synthetic-fill jacket in the colder months has been awesome. I have full range of motion with no riding up or pinching. I've also layered in underneath my big puffy, but over my mid-layers in colder weather and it's performed well. Really glad I made this purchase and looking forward to using it in the warmer months also

Best all-round jacket ever (Review by Zoom)

It's been about 8 years since I got this jacket, and I still get compliments on it and wear it all the time. Use it for everything year-round. Keeps you a comfortable temperature for high-output activities like backcountry skiing, running, hiking, nordic skiing, mountain biking, etc. I've worn it climbing and abused it mercilessly, and it still doesn't have a singe hole in it. Miraculous.

Three season jacket! (Review by Ellen)

Mostly I love this jacket for spring skiing and for summer hiking. It isn't the warmest so I rarely use it on cold winter days (try the OR Centrifuge for that) but I love it if the temperature is in the high 30's - mid 50's! I confess to owning three of these although my oldest is one of the first generations without a hood, (bring that back OR!) It is soft and supple and provides a touch of warmth and wind protection. I usually wear this with a light shirt on underneath. It also works well as an around town mountain summer evening jacket...I got the large because of my somewhat wide hips but also because I like buying jackets bigger for layering. (5'7", 150 lbs, wide shoulders and hips!!)..

Great Softshell (Review by Missy)

I think this jacket is great and very comfortable. It is perfect for days that are a little chilly and you just need an extra small layer. It is definitely water resistant, but I wouldn't choose this jacket if it was down pouring.

Great lightweight softshell (Review by Alex)

This is a great lightweight softshell. Really comfortable, not scratchy if worn with just a t-shirt or tank underneath. I usually wear it as a layer when I'm trail running in cold or wet weather, on the uphill when backcountry skiing, or as a layer hiking. I usually wear a S in OR trim fit styles, and an XS in standard fit styles. I have the XS and it fits perfect.

Wish it came in one color (Review by Ferrosi)

The ferrosi jacket in black is my all time favorite running, crosscountry skiing, trail running jacket. I use it from end of august to late may with the weather we have in Greenland.
I want to buy a new ferrosi jacket - but will probably choose another brand - because of the two color models. The skis have one color, the trail shoes have one color, the running shoes have one color and if the jacket have to many colors, you look like a circus :-)
I wish the jacket came in one color.

Exactly as advertised. (Review by Mel)

I bought this jacket for ski touring. I wanted something light weight, breathable, wind resistant, with a hood, and a pocket for my phone, which I use as a GPS and camera. I finally picked this jacket, and I'm very happy that I did. The Ferrosi Hoodie has great stretch, so I can layer it over an insulation piece if necessary, and it does an amazing job at breaking the wind. I wore it touring on some warm spring days, and I was very impressed with the breathability. I'm looking forward to taking it climbing this summer.

On a fashion note, the jacket looks much nicer in real life than on the website. I bought the elderberry/wisteria colour, and it's great.

I'm 5'8", 140lbs, and the medium fit really well.

Thanks for making the jacket I have been looking for!

Great lightweight piece (Review by Cait)

This is an awesome light weight jacket. The material is thinner than I expected, but durable and hold up well. I've used it as a mid-layer and and outer layer while hiking and trail running in temperatures ranging from 10F - 55F, clear conditions and windy/light precipitation. Great fitting hood, though I have not yet tried to use it with a helmet. Both hood and bottom of jacket have a draw cord, which pulls tight enough so I can store my bear spray inside the hem - which is a pretty neat bonus if you ask me. I love that it has a chest pocket - though I wish the opening was just a little bit bigger, I have to fiddle with my phone to get it in and out which can be a little annoying. All in all - VERY happy with my purchase!

I am 5'7, athletic build, about 145 pounds and the M is a great fit

Really tried to like it (Review by Buckie)

I wish I liked this jacket, but I just can't find a good use for it. It does not protect you from the wind at all, is not warm either. Not practical as a softshell jacket unless you're wearing a long sleeve tee under.

Sadly it just sits in my closet now.

Perfect. For almost everything you can think of. (Review by Ra)

I got the Ferrosi jacket because my husband kept telling me how much he loved his - and he was so right. This is super lightweight yet provides just enough protection from wind and water that I take it everywhere - hiking, backcountry skiing, cycling, running, paddling - everywhere. It really does everything OR claims - it's got a great athletic cut yet stretches easily, is nearly windproof and sheds water, and when it does get wet, it dries quickly. One huge advantage over other similar jackets is that this thing is also TOUGH - I'm constantly bushwhacking for work and play, and sharp brush hasn't left a single mark on this jacket.

I'm 5'7", 135#, and medium was perfect as always with OR. I'd recommend this for just about any aerobic activities down to about 50 degrees F, or lower if you're really moving.

This jacket is very functional. It is lightweight and breathable, and great protection from sun and wind.

W's Ferrosi Hoody (Review by Vicki)

One of the first pieces of my now substantial OR wardrobe. Living in a mild climate like southern California, this hoody remains a lightweight, comfortable, functional, and attractive staple of my wardrobe for active or casual pursuits.
