Nice and cool gloves but don't feel sturdy

Nice gloves. After using three times they've held up well. Seem thin though.

Park City, UT

Wash these gloves well before wearing! Otherwise good gloves

These are my 3rd pair of OR gloves. I usually love these gloves, but this pair (new) bled a strange yellow color onto my palms when they got wet in a rainstorm! I washed them when I got home, and they continued to bleed a yellow-ish color through several rinses. That's a little troublesome, not knowing what this color comes from. So buy these gloves, but be sure to wash them and rinse very well before using them the first time!

I would buy these gloves again.

These gloves are great for hiking. They prevent hands from sunburn help keeping my hands from drying out.

Thin, comfortable, quick drying

They'll wear out relatively quickly but are super comfortable and quick drying. The grip is fantastic. Love them for sea kayaking or alpine running - just don't use them for scramble as the material won't last very long.

Great Fishing Gloves

Great gloves for fishing and desert hiking as they will protect your hands against sun and windburn. I wore these in White Sands National Monument on a 98 degree day and walked away without any sunburn. They are very comfortable in that environment and essential if you like covering up every inch of skin while you are desert hiking. They are also good for fishing/paddling. They are not meant for sustained use like work gloves are and they will tear easier than OR's winter gloves.

These do the job they were intended for

My husband loves these gloves. He takes medicine that makes having too much sun blister his skin. He uses them for fishing, driving, and odd jobs when he's outside. He's very happy with them

Best summer glove

This is the best summer glove that I have, it protect my hand from the sun while driving.

Ontario, Canada

Great fit, essential for sunny ocean paddling

Highly recommend for sunny days on the water. I've had expeditions where my hands would break out in boils and itchiness because of the salt water and sun. These glove are so light weight, I barely notice them. They also have good grip and feel when rolling.

Nice Lightweight Gloves or Liners

Great used on their own for a morning hike / run. Very thin but add surprisingly good amount of extra insulation when used as a liner within mittens on a cold day snow adventure.

Theses gloves are some of the best I have ever had.

I love these gloves. They protect my hands against sunburn and bruises. and they grip my hiking poles.

Can you recommend some specific detergents or soaps for washing these, in the washing machine and by hand?

we recommend mild detergent like Dr. Bronner's or a Nikwax Tech wash using a hand wash method for the best longevity of use followed by a hang dry. you can use the washer if you like, just run it on a gentle cycle as the gloves are very very lightweight.

Please detail the washing and drying instructions for the Chroma Sun Gloves. Should I use detergent or a soap product? Liquid or powder? Machine or hand washing?

We highly recommend a hand/sink wash with a mild detergent (we like technical gear wash like a Nikwax Tech Wash) and a drip dry.

I love these gloves - but have a question. I've lost any care instructions, but have heard that they should be washing with a powdered detergent. Is this correct? If so, what do I lose if I occasionally wash them with my usual liquid detergent? Thanks!

you will not lose much, the main issue is the acidity in most new liquid detergents, however from my personal use I can highly recommend hand washing them in the sink after a long adventure, and then from time to time a wash in the machine will not damage the gloves, just use a mild liquid detergent. The activeice fibers have around 70-80 washes before you will see a loss of performance in the cooling fabric

How to measure

Measure around a flat hand at the knuckles,do not include your thumb. Also measure your hand length from the base of your palm to the end of your middle finger. Use the larger of the two measurements to select your glove size.
