Best Mitts Ever

5

I have always had a problem with my hands getting cold while on the mountain. I used to keep a pair of disposable heaters in each glove to stay comfortable. The Lucent heated mitt keeps me comfortable all day and the different settings are perfect to keep me comfortable on the hill all day. It would be nice to be able to purchase an extra battery pack for extra long ski days that turn into night skiing- they have pretty good life, but not that long. OR is always out of stock on the extra battery

Simply Amazing

These gloves have saved me. I have Reynaud's and I was very skeptical that these mittens could ensure a great ski season. These mitts have surpassed my expectations as they have kept my hands toasty in colder weather on the slopes. I have also been surprised at the battery life. They have lasted the day on a combo of the highest (3 hours or so) and middle settings (another 3 hours or so). I also like that it is very easy to read what temp you have them set at.

A Must Have

I kind of froze my hands a year ago while skiing and they always get really cold (i.e., painfully cold) ever since then. Nothing else was working until I got these mittens and I can now turn up the heat when needed or just maintain a perfect warmth throughout the ski day. These mitts were a game-changer for me.

Perfect for winter camping cold nights

Go to glove for cold nights in the backcountry. Just came off of 5 nights on the Teton Crest trail. Ran the mitts for cooking and all other campsite activities til lights out. Battery lasted the whole trip

Bought this product for my wife as a Christmas present.

My wife snow skis at Whitefish Mountain Resort in Whitefish, MT. It gets COLD here. The Lucent Heated Mittens allows her to stay out all day and never get cold fingers. The mittens work as advertised, perform as advertised and best of all no more cold fingers.

Love this mitten. Turns on and off quickly without removing mitten, works reliably and charges quickly at night before the next ski day!

Great so far but have only used them once at -8C.

I find the cuffs a little tight to go over my ski jacket cuffs. My ski jacket will not allow the cuffs to go under the jacket.

Poor connection to battery.

1

These mittens are great when the battery stays connected to the glove. I use these to ski and I have to reconnect the batteries about every 20-30 minutes which is frustrating when you are trying to keep your hands warm. I contacted OR about this problem and nothing has been changed in their design to fix the problem and I have had these mittens for two years. All they need to do to fix the problem is make the connection so it snaps into place. So simple. Too bad I already spent the money. The bottom line is if you have a really hard time keeping your hands from going numb due to coldness you cannot rely on these mittens 100% of the time. I feel they are 50% reliable which is not acceptable for the price you pay and when you venture out into the backcountry. I recommend trying another brand. I would not recommend this mitten to anyone until they fix the connection. If the wire would snap into the battery the problem would be solved.

I am going to be working in Antartica and wish to put a liner glove inside these mittens as I will have to tie knots in rope every day for three months. My measurements are: L: 7", Cicum: 8". Even with the liner glove they only add about 1/2". This is the size for a medium, but I am thinking Large is the choice. What is your recomendation? What happens if they do not fit upon arrival? I depart November 25th. Is that enough time to correct if there is an error if I place the order by the end of this month?

Keith

I would recommend sizing up for the additional on liners underneath, just bear in mind that putting a heavy use glove liner inside of the lucents can potential cause abrasion or damage to the interior liner of the lucent, which is not removable

How to measure

Measure around a flat hand at the knuckles,do not include your thumb. Also measure your hand length from the base of your palm to the end of your middle finger. Use the larger of the two measurements to select your glove size.
