Merino wool has long been heralded as nature's best temperature-regulating fabric. With the ability to hold onto heat in cold temps, manage moisture in humidity or during strenuous activity, and dry quickly in any type of wet environment, there's no doubt as to why we choose merino wool for one of our most important layers: the foundation. For chilly backpacking, mountaineering, or skiing trips, and for humid hiking, paddling, and climbing excursions, the Alpine Onset Collection are the base layers you need to keep your temperature in check. Using 83% merino wool with a touch of nylon and spandex for extra mobility, each Alpine Onset piece features a trim fit as your next-to-skin layer for easy layering and efficient temperature control. A flat seam construction prevents chafing, and a lightweight, compact design makes it easy to fit an extra layer or two in your pack. Plus, merino wool naturally blocks odors - making it an easy winner that both you and your tentmate will appreciate.

RATING AND REVIEWS

Like wearing a little duckling.

5

These are so soft. So comfortable. No itch at all. Warmer than I thought they would be for the thinness of the material. They wear great as a base layer. No scrunching or bunching up. I usually am a size L in all pants, but a M is the size appropriate in these for me. I'm 6'1" and 195 lbs.

Great versatile long underwear

4

Great long underwear. Wool keeps the stink down on multi days uses & they breath well. Underwear are thin allowing great range of motion & fit under any pant or jeans while still remaining quite warm for how thick they are.

Merino is the best!

Meino is bomber. These are not super warm, but they are a great base layer under shell pants. Breathe well, stay warm when went, and don't stink!

Good light to midweight drawers

5

All in all a good light ro midweight. I wish these came in a true expedition weight for truly cold weather. I guide in Alaska and will need to double these for winter use.

I am 6'1 with a 32 inch waist and 34 inch inseam, which size do you recommend.

James

I would recommend a size medium using our sizing chart, however you will see a shorter inseam then what you need at a listed 31"
