Merino wool has long been heralded as nature's best temperature-regulating fabric. With the ability to hold onto heat in cold temps, manage moisture in humidity or during strenuous activity, and dry quickly in any type of wet environment, there's no doubt as to why we choose merino wool for one of our most important layers: the foundation. For chilly backpacking, mountaineering, or skiing trips, and for humid hiking, paddling, and climbing excursions, the Alpine Onset Collection are the base layers you need to keep your temperature in check. Using 83% merino wool with a touch of nylon and spandex for extra mobility, each Alpine Onset piece features a trim fit as your next-to-skin layer for easy layering and efficient temperature control. A flat seam construction prevents chafing, and a lightweight, compact design makes it easy to fit an extra layer or two in your pack. Plus, merino wool naturally blocks odors - making it an easy winner that both you and your tentmate will appreciate.

Throw away your other underwear

These boxers are the best. They are super soft and comfortable, not even the beginnings of an itch. They're great in the heat and the cold and can be worn for days on end with no smell or other ill effects.

Nice fit, comfy

I love the fit of these, the legs aren't too long, while just as important not too short (the short boxer briefs tend to ride up my godzilla thighs and get bunchy and uncomfortable. As someone who has worn 100% wool boxer briefs for years I can tell how much more durable this blend is, while still maintaining all the things you love about wool- less stink, fast drying, good temp regulation, etc. Good job, OR, these are pretty much the only undies I wear (don't worry, I have multiple pairs!)

Comfortable Technical underwear

A nice upgrade from the earlier generation of "wool" undergarment. The higher wool content, and anti-odour technology, is important.

Climate controlled undies!

I wear waders everyday at work and always used to feel cold/clammy downstairs. These underwear are the perfect solution to this. They help regulate your body temp, keep me warm when it's cold and keep me cool when it's warm.

Great brief - slightly slow to dry

Have the Smartwool and Icebreaker versions of merino boxer briefs, and these are my favorites. Good fit, no itch, good waistband and no smell (at least not in the three days I wore them before washing)

Great weight boxer, runs a little small

I've been using merino briefs from several brands for about a decade and feel that it's the best material out there for just about everything next to skin. I got these a few weeks ago and here's my take so far. The material great, my only two complaints are that the elastic felt a little tight to me, I ordered a size M and have a 31 waist. The waist rides a little higher than the Smartwool briefs I've been using recently, I personally prefer the lower cut, but that's a preference thing. All in all a great product!
