Well made/designed, but not very warm

Bought for alpine skiing, Loved the articulation of the fingers. Well made. Nice materials. Fit well using OR's sizing chart. The only negative were, they aren't warm enough for 25 to 29 *F temps for skiing. They feel much thinner than your average ski gloves. To me, they aren't warm enough for your average, seasonal temps skiing. It seems like OR designed a great glove, but didn't insulate it enough. This glove with it's wool lining, would benefit from synthetic down insulation in the back of the glove, and a bit more of the wool insulation all the way around. Not sure what you were thinking about OR? Fail!

The best gloves I've ever owned

I use these gloves out on the skin track, the way down, and the resort. They're the best gloves I've ever owned. Somehow able to breathe, but also so warm!

Great Cold Weather Gloves

I use these gloves primarily for ice climbing and they have been great! They have a great dexterity, grip, warmth, and durability. I also really like the design of the gauntlet that makes it easy to wear them over or under jacket cuffs. The leather will absorb some water though (mine can sometimes get a little wet while belaying), so for multiday adventures I'd make sure to bring extras and dry them out in a jacket/sleeping bag.

Great warmth for the dexterity

I love these gloves. They are very warm for how thin they are. I believe this is due to the fingers having more girth (no squeezing of fingers at all). This allows a little air to be trapped around the fingers in addition to the very thin layer of insulation. They are not water proof and wet out quickly but the lack of a membrane allows them to breath and dry and be used in a wider range of temps. I use these on summit day guiding on Rainier and usually they're just warm enough but allow me to do what I need to with my hands. I also use them for leading ice. A thinner glove would be nice but these are usually what I need to keep the hands warm for the whole pitch. See Video

First use today

First time wearing the gloves tonight. 10 mile fat bike trail ride on medium temps. (About 20 degrees) perfect glove to wear between warm and extreme cold conditions. I would recommend. I bought the all black because the ones with the leather color accents were out of stock in my size. I still think it is strange that OR runs out of sizes so fast. OR has become my pick for winter gear even above Patagonia at the same price point. Plus the warranty blows any other manufacturer out of the water.

Sweet Gloves for those brisk morning ascents

Love these gloves, got a pair of Extravert's lighter little brother "Stormtracker" model gloves, liked them so much just had to have a pair of these warmer models. Super gloves would recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable, warm active glove!

Bought my second pair!

Go to gloves when working in cold and wet conditions, warm when wet and great grip. A little bulky but broke it and leather became supple for good dexterity.

Great, but not quite as pictured.

Durable feel, great fit, and warm without overheating in warmer conditions than they're rated for (0-30 degrees Fahrenheit according to the packaging). I ordered the charcoal/natural color and sadly the pair I received had the mesh looking fingers of the black pair (though in brown) as opposed to the more natural looking fingers pictured. Additionally the charcoal color in the gloves was a light grey, much lighter than the grey pictured. I still love the gloves, just wish the images had been a bit more accurate.

I would definitely buy these again.

These gloves fit amazing. I love the high wrist. These are warm enough for workin in -10 easily. To date they have held up very well.

I would buy this product again

The gloves are really comfortable and the palms are well designed. They can be used both on the uptrack and the downhill. The leather is soft and grips well. The only change I would look for is a shorter cuff.
