The 5.4 ounce, Pertex® Shield+ Helium Pants—inspired by our best-selling flash-storm insurance Helium II rain shell—come with all the waterproof performance and lightweight packable protection you’ll need in a serious deluge.
All sizes are true to measurement, BUT I had a problem with how they fit in the thighs and seat. Order a size up if you have large thighs and butt.
Gets the job done
Seem to be high quality pants and have kept me dry so far, but definitely run small in the waist and I wish there were more inseam lengths available. Also would be nice to have zippers to access pockets underneath.

Fantastic rain pants
Great rain pants. Super light and packable, these pants kept me completely dry for 7 days on my spring backcountry canoe trip. I only have good things to say about them. I abused them daily, bushwhacking from lake to lake, branches and trees poking at my legs constantly, not one tear, not even a scratch that I can see. I don`t mind at all that they doesn't have side pockets, to me that's just one more seam where water could get in.
I wore the Helium II jacket along with the pants, highly recommend that one as well.
Will definitely buy another pair if these ones ever fail me. (doubt it!)
ultralight rainpants you can take with you anywhere
These can be packed for any adventure, as a backup, for an unplanned rain event. They are very lightweight and should only be a primary rain pant on the most weight sensitive adventures. That said they can be with you always as they pack down to nothing and weigh very little. They basically go everywhere with me now, work or play.
Quality As Always.
Love the Helium pant. Great protection in a small, light package. Underfoot tabs are a nice addition.
Great rain pants.
Good rain pants/outer shell. The thighs and butt are a little snug for me, but this is a common problem I have with most pants. I ended up re-ordering a size larger to accommodate wearing the rain pants over a pants and long underwear.
Light and compact
I bought these to be used as my rain pants for a trail and restoration crew in AZ. Fortunately I didn't have to break them out this season while doing rock work because they would have gotten shredded, but I did get to sport them a good bit in town while it was raining/snowing and I was very happy with them. They look good, fit good, breathe, and most importantly keep my legs dry. They are hyper-lightweight and take up almost no space in a pack, and are great just to have on you all the time, just in case.
Totally worth carrying and hopefully not needing them but great protection for when you do. Lightweight and waterproof.
dry and light
I use this product for daily bike commuting. when I purchased it I thought id be able to use it for work, but it is much to lightweight for any backcountry use. Keeps me dry on my rides though! I find the fit in the thighs to be a little tight, but I only notice this when biking, they fit nicely when not in the saddle.
Comfortable and light waterproof pants
Loved the fit. They are lightweight and therefore it's more likely I'll use them! They worked! Some waterproof pants make a lot of noise while walking, but these were pretty quiet. The one thing I did not prepare for is the fact that leg cuffs are quite narrow and so the rain that hit the legs ran down and dripped into my hiking shoes! I'll need to work out how to avoid that, but something worth thinking about when buying.
Men's Helium Pants
I was wondering what size I should get. I wear 34" waist/ 32" length. I would probably wear hiking pants underneath.
I would go with size L.
