RATING AND REVIEWS

Waist smaller than my normal mediums, large will be too long

Typically, I wear medium but these are too snug in waist and thigh. But proper length, so afraid large will be long enough to get caught on boots/breaks.

Decent Touring Pants

These pants fit great. I guess when it comes to the breatheability and water resistance balance I'd rather have standard 3L pants with bigger side zips. These perform like a heavier soft shell pant in the above regards. They wet out on me in light snow storms. The fit is the best I've found in a while though so I'm keeping them.

Best colder weather multi use pant I own!

5

I purchased these pants for backcountry skiing in colorado. They have huge side zips on the side to help when ascending and as soon as you open up those bad boys you get instant temperature relief. When zipped up they provide great warmth for a shell. Typically my rule when I use them at a resort is if it is below 30 degrees I wear a base layer underneath. However, in the backcountry I will wear just the shell and no other layers down to 15 degrees and I find them warm enough. There are a ton of pockets on these things which is great for cell phones especially if I have my avy beacon on. There are many options to provide space between the beacon and the cell phone so there is no interference. I also use these pants for mountaineering. I carry them in my pack and when we get to snow fields and/or crampon/ice axe time I through these on to help with the waterproofing. I am also planning to use them this summer for additional wind/rain/snow protection on 14ers.

So far so good!

Fit is a little snug but I can still layer effectively, length is perfect however. I'm 5'8 175 and got the mediums, work great so far.

Great Snowboard Pants for Resort or Backcountry

5

Only used a few times so far, so can't speak to durability. I bought these pants as a replacement for a well-worn pair of Goretex shell pants I used for resort and backcountry snowboarding. Prior to purchasing I tried on the White Room pants and these. The White Rooms looked great, but were a bit too short, so when I high stepped the legs would ride up way to much. The Skywards have just enough stretch to them to counteract this, so the length was no problem. I was skeptical of the convertible "bib/pant" feature, but I have to say that these work perfect as a bib or as a pant. And the bib zips off and on very easily. The fabric seems like a true hardshell despite the stretch as OR claims, as these have been very waterproof/windproof. Very pleased with these pants.

Almost great pants.

These pants are nearly great, hopefully a couple of future updates will get them there. I comfortably wear a 34" pant from OR and from the sizing chart went with the large in these. I can get the waist to close but it's snug and the bib top doesn't stay closed for me. I've found that I like these pants (without the bib top) for ski touring more than the White Room pants because of how well they breathe and move. I prefer the White Rooms anytime it's wet or I'm riding a chairlift. The power strap slots on the cuff gaiter were the surprise hit feature for me, I thought it was silly until I used it, now I love it.

Great touring & spring skiing pants

4

I love these pants. They are very thin / no insulation so are great for fair weather touring. Not so much for sitting on a chair in subzero temps. Calling the fit "slim" would be generous and the button-velcro attachment on the bib is pretty flimsy. Still pumped on them.

Versitile!

These are great pants. Waterproof, windproof, breathable. With the zip off bibs I can use them as casual snow pants or super deep powder pants. The bibs are a little tight, so they need to be worn under my mid layer, no big deal, but it can be annoying to access the bib pockets. I'm a little disappointed in the gators. For a company that makes awesome hiking gators that are very versatile, the gators on these pants aren't much use unless you're wearing ski boots. They do have a breathable upper mesh which is nice, but mine is already ripping at the seams. The pants are awesome, but the gators are pretty weak.

These are super technical and well designed. They do fit a little snug so maybe size up.

Very well designed pant--but

4

Well designed pant except for the waist. i have a large and a 34 waist and this fits, but just. I like the construction and the pocket/beacon use--very common sense. I would buy again and recommend to a friend. Hopefully OR will add a little more space in the waist area.

Looking at the Men's Skyward pants and wondering how the size Medium runs compared to other brands in this size. I am 6'0, 162lbs and usually buy size Medium in brands like North Face, Eddie Bauer First Ascent. How does ORs sizing for this product compare?

JC

Hi JC, The waist for a size Medium is 33", it increases or decreases 3" for each additional size up or down. The low hip measurement for a size Medium is 44", it increases or decreases 3" for each additional size up or down. The inseam of the pants for a size Medium is 31.5", it increases or decreases 1" for each additional size up or down. Thanks for contacting OR,

Paul

I don't understand you sizing chart. The pants come in four sizes: S-XL. However the size chart shows five sizes: 30" to 38" in two inch increments. How am I supposed to know which size pants corresponds to the correct chart column? I typically buy 34x30 pants. Which size do you recommend?

Pierce

Hi Pierce, The waist measurement for the pants is 30" for a size Small and increases 3" for each additional size up. The inseam of the pants is 30.5" and increases 1" for each additional size up. If you are a true 34" waist you may have to size up to a Large and adjust the waistband using the waistband adjustment tabs on the sides of the bibs or using a belt. Thanks for contacting OR,

Paul

How do i choose what length I would like my bibs in?

Cash

Hi Cash, The waist measurement is 30" for a Small and increases 3" for each additional size up. The inseam measurement is 30.5" for a Small and increases 1" for each additional size up. Thanks for contacting OR, Paul

I have a 34" inseam and a 32" waist. Will the medium size be long enough, or do you have long sizes?

Peter

Hi Peter, The size Medium will not be long enough, it has a 33" waist and a 31.5" inseam. We unfortunately do not have long sizes available. Thanks for contacting OR, Paul

Hi - the skyward pant shows four sizes (S, M, L, XL), but the size chart shows five sizes. How do I tell which size is large and x-large on the size chart? Thanks

Gus

Hi Gus, A size Small has a waist measurement of 30" and an inseam measurement of 30.5". A size Medium has a 33" waist / 31.5" inseam. A size Large has a 36" waist / 32.5" inseam. A size XL has a 39" waist / 33.5" inseam. And a size XXL (Black only) has a 42" waist / 34.5" inseam. Thanks for contacting OR, Paul

What are the waist/inseam measurments for the med skyward bib pant?

Steve

Hi Steve, The waist measurement for a size Medium in the Skyward Bib Pants is 33" and the inseam is 31.5". Thanks for contacting OR, Paul
