Love this hoody

I love this hoody. It's cozy, warm, and breaths well. I wear it for hikes, and in around my office.

My all-time Favorite Jacket

Hands down my favorite jacket. I love it for climbing, casual wear, and hanging out at camp. It is perfect for those cold multi-pitch climbing days or belaying at the crag. I wear a small in all OR jackets and the small is perfect in this jacket, too.

Great Jacket

This jacket is really great, I wear it almost everyday. This spring has been much cooler and drizzly than others, and this jacket is light weight, easy to take on and off, water mostly beads off (not waterproof and not for legit raining weather, but fine for light drizzle), and it's the perfect warmth. It fits well and is a great colour (I got the burgundy). I'm super happy with it.

I wear this basically everyday

So good! Comfy, warm, light and flattering! I wear it almost every day to work, for work and generally day to day use. Excited to test it out in cooler weather and camping/hiking trips.

My new favorite breathable jacket

I do a lot of snow and coulior climbing in the spring. I cant wait to get this jacket out next week. It's exactly what I have been looking for during those moments when you are working hard and sweating but still need a jacket to insulate in the snow. This jacket will also work will for ice climbing.

Colorado Springs, CO

I would buy it again and again. So great!

So good. Might need a second one.

I lived in this for a month!

I took this jacket to the Khumbu and all the way up to Everest Base Camp pretty much on a whim- and wore it every single day. I slept in it, hiked in it, dodged yaks in it, and at the end it was no worse for wear (except perhaps a faint smell of teahouse smoke, which a good wash remedied). Most days a light wool long sleeve underneath was sufficient for 40 degree weather, and it fit nicely under my monster down jacket in the evenings.

Absolutely love this !

It is really warm , for it's weight. I love the hood , capability to cinch it up tight, but no sight restrictions. I'm outdoors everyday, regardless of weather, This takes me from 40 degrees, to layered up to -10 degrees , really great garment. I just bought a second one, in case OR discontinues the line .

cosy hoodie

There are 3 things I consistently enjoy about the OR jackets - the long sleeves, the structure of the thumb holes/loops, and the non-restrictive hoods. I purchased a large and could have gone for a medium, I am 5'6, but at least there will be lots of room to layer underneath. The torso is adequately long, so I will not have to worry about a cold breeze shooting up my back when I am working outdoors and wearing this garment. I have found that the hood is nice, even for driving in. There is nothing worse than trying to shoulder check with your hood up, and the hood not moving with your head! The color is fairly true to the photo, which isn't always the case with OR products. Not shiny at all which I also enjoy.

Perfect multi-use hoodie

Great hoody for cold weather pursuits including running, ski touring, downhill skiing. Breathes well with aerobic activities. Wind and water resistant so it kept me surprisingly warm for the weight/ bulk. I'm 5'8" and 150 lbs and the medium is a little large since I'd just wear this as a mid layer but I'm afraid the small would be too small so I kept it. Love the turquoise color.

How do the Ascendant Hoody and the Uberlayer Hoody compare in terms of warmth, breathability, water resistance, fit?

Hi Stillgoing, The Ascendant Hoody has a little less warmth, much more breathable, and a little more water resistance. The Uberlayer is about an 1" smaller in the chest, otherwise they fit the same. Thanks for contacting OR,
