RATING AND REVIEWS

Comfy, stylish and functional.

4

I've been using this to run in during colder weather, and just as a jacket in milder weather. It's kept me comfortable during weather below 0 degrees Celsius. I also hike to the crag with this on during cooler early morning. I also really like the design of the slightly offset zipper. It helps this piece standout from other jackets. the fleece isn't anything special but it does the job. It is a trim fit, so keep that in mind for sizing. I did have one thread beside the zipper come loose. I cut it out and there does not seem to be any other threads.

Solid and stylish

The quality is top notch and it's OR, so you know they stand behind their product 100% Fantastic as a light jacket by itself or as a mid weight insulating layer. I've worn it in temperatures down mid to low forties (no wind) with nothing else but a t-shirt and been comfortable. The little details OR puts in their clothes are awesome, in this case the grid fleece in precise locations really does help vent heat. The thumb holes in sleeves, extra length in the back, and the way the zipper sets off centered and doesn't irritate your face when the hood is up and zipped is also a nice little touch. Also, not sure how many of you care about this sort of thing, but for left handers who like to carry something concealed, the chest pocket on the right side is perfect for this. This fleece is so comfy too! And Sharp looking, I've gotten several compliments wearing this around town. I love this hoody. I do wish it had some hand warmer pockets but this is a minor drawback. I am 5'9" 170 lbs and the large fits great

Absolute favorite layer

5

The Radiant Hybrid Hoody is absolutely my favorite layer. I work in the refrigerated/frozen section of a grocery store and wear it daily as a stand alone. I also use it as a stand-alone piece for rock climbing on moderate/brisk days. During winter and ice/alpine climbing, it is an excellent mid-layer or even a heavy base layer. It wicks well, has a smooth face that layers easily with other pieces and resists snagging (a big problem at my work and on rock), and fits close to the body so it doesn't "bag out" and get in the way. It is remarkably warm for the weight and even resists light precipitation and rain (although it is not weatherproof). The hoody is snug and doesn't drift into my eyes under a helmet or feel claustrophobic against my face. The zipper is small and I appreciate how it zips to the side of my chin to avoid pinching. ( The zipper did break once on me in the wash. Outdoor Research happily replaced it and recommended I keep it zipped when washing to avoid this in the future. So far, so good.) This piece has even replaced my Patagonia R1 hoody as it is comparable in weight and costs less. The smooth face makes it a competitor against the new R1 TechFace hoody too. This was one of my first pieces by OR years ago and I loved it so much I bought TWO more. I've since become a diehard OR fan. Absolutely love this piece.

A must have

5

I used the 3/4 zip radiant pullover for a backcountry hunting trip in late October and absolutely loved it. I used it has my warmest layer and it kept me just the right temperature. I recently bought the hoody, which I will use next year instead and it will be perfect for the cold mountain nights. Either radiant style is a must have for the backcountry.

Nice full-zip hoody, but trim fit isn't for everyone.

4

Nice fleece full zip hoody, however the trim fit seems to be really tight on the underarms. All other areas are adequate for a trim fit, however the armpits feel constricted with anything more than a very light t-shirt underneath. I have a pretty solid build (6', 210lbs) with broad, thick shoulders that does not seem to work with Trim Fit items from OR. Standard Fit items are spot-on though. Construction, material and design all 5 star.

nice Active wear piece

This is the third jacket I've owned of this design. Lost the first two. Thumb loops are great but there was wear at the palm coverage area. The newer version seems a bit warmer that the original. Love the good and fit around the neck. Great jacket.

could have been called the toaster

Fits as described; trim fit, sleeves are long enough and covers well the lower back when bending over to adjust boots, picking through your toes and even good enough for occasional plumbing jobs. Best feature is that it's toasty; -10oC, t-shirt + this hoody + shell and you are ready to play outside. Almost to hot to wear inside. Zipper is small and seems flimsy, but it's holding up until now.

Perfect for skiing

I wore this item under the Mythril Jackey skiing in the Austrian alps. The temp during the several day trip was from 19F-38F and this piece complimented any outer layer perfectly.
