love this jacket

great jacket! love the fit, I am typically an XS, so it is true to size; 100# 5'1 and love the color and the zipper vents in the armpits.

Beautiful & Practical Jacket

This is a great jacket to pack in your bag when going on an adventure. It's great when the wind picks up or if it starts to rain. I love the fit, the only downsize for me was that I had to go with a large because the sleeves were a but short. I'm 5'10" and 140lbs. I bought the black one and I love how you can still wear it to work or downtown and ise as a casual jacket. All in all, I highly recommend it.

Wets out in minutes

1

After much research I decided on this jacket. I was exited to finally have a coat that would keep me dry in the rain. This jacket is not it! The first jacket I received wetted out within a few minutes. After speaking with a representative I was informed that when you first receive the coat you should reactivate the DWR in the dryer. After "reactivating," the jacket was no better. Convinced that the first product I received was a lemon, I was able to exchange for a new jacket. Before I used the new jacket I put it in the dryer to reactivate the DWR technology. I tested it out in a light rain, and it wetted out in minutes. I am beyond frustrated. I don't understand how this jacket is so highly rated; both jackets I've had wetted out in minutes. I feel like I'm now stuck with an expensive jacket that isn't even remotely waterproof.

Highly Recommended

This jacket fits true to size but I'm 5'9" and had to take a Large because the sleeves were a but too short for me with the medium. I got the black one, it goes well with everything. I love the way it looks. I use it mostly for hikes as a wind/water protection layer. It's fully waterproof (trust me, I got caught in a real hail/rains storm and stayed perfectly dry). Light enough to pack as a just in case. Very versatile and makes for a good casual jacket as well! 5 stars!

Impenetrable rain armor

5

I bought this jacket for a camping/hiking trip to Cuyahoga National Park. Lucky for me, there were plenty of torrential downpours! Yay! This jacket laughs at rain. (Not literally, well, I don't know, I may have heard it chuckle. It was a long hike.) The bill of the hood is essential for keeping water out of your face, and the pit zippers are like root beer floats in the desert. Plus the jacket is lightweight and comfortable. Not comfy like a couch, but comfy like a lawn chair.

Great shell for multiple uses

4

This is a really good waterproof shell with a solid hood. It fits the arms well, even monkey-armed people like me. It's light but not so light that you feel any small stick or bramble will immediately tear it. The pit zips are great. The only real gripe I have with this jacket is with the pockets. They are way too shallow and things routinely fall out if you don't keep them zipped at all times.

Like this jacket. Only issue is zippers don't work well.

See above comments about zippers-both get stuck or do not zip.

So dry!

5

Bought multiple of this jacket because I knew I needed more than one, and so glad I did. Colorado thunderstorms can pop up in a moments notice but with this jacket I am completely dry. Bonus: I really love the design and material. It's completely waterproof without that shiny "trash-bag" look.

Great jacket

I'm loving this jacket so far! The fabric is soft and comfortable, and i love the whole side zips for ventilation. I was in a very short (moments) but heavy rain, and stayed dry. The only hesitation is that the bottom hem around the hips is a bit close. I've unzipped the bottom vent zippers a bit for a little more room, and think that will work fine, for my purposes. If the hem was a bit roomier, it would be perfect.

Hi! Is the hood compatible with a climbing helmet? Thanks

Alexis

the aspire is not helmet compatable.

OR

hi! would love to get the exact weight of the XS. thank you!

we have metrix on our middle size on this model and the M runs 13.7, typically we see around a 1 oz reduction in weight through sizes, so an extra size would be running in the 11 oz range, hoping this helps dial in a winning choice, otherwise give us an email at [email protected] and we can try and assist further!

I bought my woman's aspire jacket almost a year ago - early for a trip in September to England. I was all excited about it - but the day we got hit with a storm ( while in England) I was soaked through. I went on line and found that someone else with a similar problem did something like throw it in the dryer to activate something that has to do with the rainproofing element that is suppose to be there. I've not found that information again; and in the meantime have not used the jacket much at all. Is there something that can be done to activate rainproofing. I probably should have sent the jacket back, but kept thinking I'd ask this first , and time has gotten away from me. Now I am coming into the season I will potentially use it again (or would like to). Any help you can give me?
