RATING AND REVIEWS

I would buy this product again and again

I use it alpine touring in weather between 0-7 celsius under a softshell, and have all the other OR version of the fabric, tank, short sleeves, and long sleeves. So climbing, mtb, running, I just love it, I basicly have all the colors!

Great shirt

This is a very light weight top. The pictures led me to believe this was a hoodie that had a little warmth, however, the material is extremely thin and breathable. I wore it on a long bike ride and it did protect from sun, but I needed to add layers when it rained or the wind picked up. It also fits a little bigger. Despite these minor complaints, I still like the top a lot and think it will be great for some of my adventures.

Awesome sun hoody BUT....

I am an Outdoor Educator and spend a lot of time working and playing in the sunshine. I bought one of these a year ago and absolutely loved it. I wore it everyday on a 21-day JMT hike, I wore it on many whitewater trips, took it to Patagonia for a 3 month climbing trip, climbed a bunch in the sun...it was my go-to for staying covered and protected from the sun. It had a few runs in the fabric but nothing major; overall I was impressed with how well it held up. I just bought a new Echo Hoody for this summer season and am not so happy with it. The fabric does seem to be a little lighter than last years model but I don't think it is nearly as durable. On my first day wearing it the stitching on the lower hem started to come undone and it already had a few runs in the fabric. See the photos I posted. I have only worn it for a few days and it continues to get more runs. I am careful with my gear and try to make it last as long as possible. I don't know what is different about this hoody but it does not seem to be as durable as my last one and I am not so impressed with its rapid wear-out.

Great for desert hiking

Lightweight and fits true to size. I am 5' 5" 120lbs and got an extra small. It was perfect for an all day hike out in the desert sun.

Happy with this shirt!

Wore this to climb and ski Mt. Adams and it protected me from the sun without getting too hot. Fits well, too.

I work outside in the desert, and I hate sunscreen. I have tried so many different sun shirts, and I keep coming back to this one. The fabric is delicate and very snag-prone, but it's the only one that I've found to be comfortable all day when it's above 90 degrees. I have three generations of the Echo sun hoody, and the one I purchased in May of 2019 is by far the best. The fabric has always been awesome, but the 2019 updates are really great. The sleeves seem a little bit longer on this updated version (I found the sleeves to be too short on previous versions), and the fitted hood this year is SO MUCH BETTER than the 'stylish' v-neck of years past. I still think the hand mitts are pretty silly, but they don't really detract from the usefulness of the product overall. I'll keep buying this for sure.

Nice lightweight sun shirt

Used this hiking for sun and wind protection. Lightweight and comfortable. I'm 5'4" and 120 lbs. I ordered the small and probably could have done with an extra small.

Great sun protection layer

I used this hoodie on an overnight backpacking/scrambling trip and fell in love. I wore it both days and it only started to smell in the car ride home because I forgot to bring deodorant and was pretty dehydrated (TMI for a review but important facts for me haha) I always forget to pack sunscreen and this protected my arms from the sun while keeping me cool in the hot humid air. I even slept in it and was extremely comfortable. I will be wearing this layer on most of my backpacking/climbing trips this summer and I am excited to see how it holds up!

Great for all seasons.

Wore it up a multi pitch the other day. Perfect during a rather cloudy, but warm/muggy day. Wicks away moisture incredibly well. I have a feeling this will quickly become my go to for most climbing adventures.
