RATING AND REVIEWS

Love my Shiftups!

5

My new favorite layering piece, over a tee or under a shell. I reach for a Shiftup for hikes, neighborhood walks, to-and-from gym / yoga / tai chi, running errands and relaxing around the house. The fabric is super-stretchy and cozy, and it drapes beautifully. Thumb holes and a little zip security pocket inside the big kangaroo pocket are nice features. Reasonably lightweight for a sweatshirt-style top and the half-zip is long enough for easy on-and-off. Long torso, too, which is appreciated. Love the Shiftup so much that I now have two. Thanks, OR!

Nice mid layer!

I got this to wear under my uniform/jacket when out giving snowshoe tours. I think it's going to work great! I got the grey, it's a little lighter than in the photo, but I like it! I got a medium like other OR tops and it fits good. It's verrrrry stretchy, which I like. It seems like it's durable too. For being so light, I think it's going to be a great midlayer piece for the winter.

Great purchase

I'm outside a lot with my dog, and was waiting to test this on a really cold day. I was out this morning in -10 degrees layered this over a short sleeve with a down vest and jacket over (it was -10 after all) and was super comfy. Also, as a tall person I really appreciate that the sleeves actually fit my arms (I can get my thumbs in the thumb holes!) and it doesn't ride up leaving my back exposed. Would definitely recommend it.

Love this piece!

This piece is a must have for brisk autumn/winter runs and activities. It has a super breathable material on the inside that feels nice against your skin and helps manage moisture on long runs or climbs. It is comfy, simple and light but with a lot of technical features I love (thumb loops, stretchy anti-odor material, long front zipper and kangaroo style pocket in front [with a mini zipper pocket for keys and small items too![) I am 133 pounds and 5'4" and I got a medium. I typically like my clothes to fit a little larger than smaller (and as a climber have slightly bigger arms) and this piece fit great. Definitely my go-to piece for brisk fall runs, rock-climbing and even wearing around the gym.

So comfy and doesn't smell!

I started wearing this hoody for a Fall weekend of wood chopping and stacking, but when I would go inside, I never took it off. In other words, it's surprisingly comfy and cozy, yet versatile enough to do heavy physical labor or excercise in cool and colder weather. And then I thought surely this layer will smell wearing it two days in a row, but it really didn't, so I wore it for a third and a fourth day before washing it and it barely had an odor to it! (Rare for synthetic layers). I think OR did a great job with this hoody. I will be wearing it for my winter runs as an outer layer and as a midlayer for skiing this winter. If you are looking for a technical, relatively light, warm, breathable, quality hoody, I definitely recommend it! And it could easily be used as a casual layer around the house or town too. For sizing I went with a medium and it has a casual comfy fit (not too tight nor too baggy). I am an athletic build 5' 7", 145lbs.

Cozy, breathable mid-layer

I'm 5' 6", about 130 pounds, and ordered a small. I love the fit-it works perfectly over a base layer, less skin-tight than the Deviator Hoody. (I ordered a SM in my Deviator which I LOVE, but that one fits more tightly, closer to the skin.) This is more sleek than fleece mid-layers but still feels cozy. I ordered it thinking I'd wear it for really cold trail runs, but have found myself just wearing it casually because it looks nice, layers over a T-shirt and also under my denim jacket for around town. Can't wait till it gets cold enough here in Colorado to REALLY put it through its paces. OH-one awesome feature is the little zipper pocket within the kangaroo pocket-perfect for a key and credit card!
