Howdy there, y'all! Name's Pavel, I am from W.Siberia, Russia. Being an avid outdoorsman, I always look for the best gear for my outings such bushcraft trainings, hiking, backcountry skiing, ice fishing, mountaineering and open-air figure skating. So I come across OR stuff. A year ago, I got seriously injured out in the bush. As a result, I still have some problem with blood circulation in my right hand fingers. No glove wasn't good enough, I always had 2 fingers ice-cold. That's why I decided to try OR's Firebrand mitts. And "Oh Lord!", these work, and even better than I assumed! Today, I've spent few hours out in the bush(at app. -15C and normal humidity), and in the evening, I had the regular ice skating drill on the open-air rink. Mitts work just fine. Hands are warm and dry. Actually, they are being just high-tec "Shubenki"(as we call the warm mitts here, in SIberia). That's why there's no problem to get used to them. I am going to test these mitts out in the mountains, and at extremely cold temps that will come soon. 4 more criterias I also found important: 1) Firebrand Mitts are made expressly for USMC - that says a lot to me. 2) Made in the USA, so these aren't kinda Chinese-made crap. 3) Tech materials such as military Gore-tex membrane, Moonlite Pile and EnduraLoft insulation which is as warm as moisture-wicking, by the way. 4) And, of course, traditionally top-quality standard of OR's gear. Both(outer CB and inner black liner mitt) can be worn separately, that's very good if weather or type of activity changes. For that, liner mitts have PU patches improving dexterity. Resuming: just great, marvelous, super-comfy mitts that I strongly recommend to everyone who needs lightweight but really warm, breathable, water- and windproof patrol mitts. I wouldn't mind to get the second pair in Alpha Green/Urban Grey which would fit to ECWCS L7 "Happy suit". But CB-colored are OK, too. These are damn warm and comfy, it's worth it! OR team, my hearty gratitude for really tough stuff. I am your "solid" follower. Once again, my dear OR team, thank you for your Firebrand Mitts that keep my fingers toasty warm in this cold, cold winter! Respectfully, Pavel "Paganel" Fedoseev, survival expert, KhMAO, W.Siberia, Russian Federation.
